Thanks jeep daddy and thank you to all who responded. I was leaning in that direction from what others have indicated but your post convinced me that I will be looking at a new tripod. This should take about a month to research this but I do think that this is the wisest move that I should be making.

Thank you all for the information provided. I will go over the information that all of you provided again and make a decision to go with the reducer screw or get a new tripod that is designed to accept the 3/8" opening directly.

The tripod is a Manfrotto 290 MT294A3.

I received for Christmas a Nest NT-530H Gimbal head and the threaded hole at the bottom of the device to connect to the tripod is larger then the standard tripod screw used to connect to the head. At least the tripods that I have. I thought that they were all standard. Does anyone have any experience with this? Did I receive the wrong equipment? Is there an adaptor that is needed? Advice please. Below is the link to the product where I got it at Camera Cottage in MT.

Excellent support from Adobe. I had a problem with moving photos to a new PC and they were able to fix what I screwed up in 5 minutes.

The monthly cost to me is not that big a deal when you consider what you are getting with it. Not only do you receive updates when they become available the support you get is priceless. Keep in mind that if the software is purchased rather then subscription the version will eventually go out of support which means at that point you can't call tech support if you have a problem. If you purchase new equipment the older versions may not recognize it and the software will not be able to handle it.

Wyoming is the least populated state in the country. I live in Delaware which has less then 1 million residents with only 3 counties. The size of Wyoming with a population that is less then Delaware gives you some idea of how remote and beautiful that state must be.

Emotionally, my 1971 Nikon F. For most outings my Arca Swiss 4x5.

I got a Nikon F back in 1972 and used it for many years until I went digital about 15 years ago. It was a work horse that was simple in design, rugged and did a great job.

Even talking about documentary or photojournalism it isn't what it may seem to be. Bodies were arrange for photos of the dead by photographers during the civil war while the famous flag raising on Iwo Jima was done a second time latter in the day for the photographer so you could say that it was staged. They were trying to convey an image of in the first example the carnage of war and the other a patriotic moment.

I live in Delaware which doesn't have a sales tax so everything shipped here is not taxable. They do have a 2% to 6% income tax but no sales tax. The 0 sales tax will not change here because it is a draw for shoppers from near by states.

The first one. I like when you can get the subject to look at the camera. In this the hawk is looking at the camera with both eyes and sort of giving you a model's pose. It's not easy to get the bird to do this. It is tack sharp and really shows the features and beauty of the bird. Can I ask what you f stop was? Did you try to blur the background?

Just go out there and do it and learn from what you do. Set up your playback to read your Histogram along with the picture and as stated above shoot in RAW. This is all detailed in Steve Perry's book "Secrets to Exposure and Metering For Nikon" as he explains how to move to automated modes to Manual.

You can get great pictures of the Bear Mountain Bridge from the Bear Mountain Park. You can get pretty high up by car to a point that overlooks the bridge from the park. Great colors in the fall.

I just saw a YouTube video by Tony and Chelsea Northrup about a purchasing fraud that they just went through and apparently it is pretty rampant in general with more then just photo retailers. They buy and test equipment all of the time for testing and whatever. Once they are done they resell the equipment online and that's where they got stuck holding the bag. After seeing this I can see that places like B&H have to be careful . If you have a chance see if you can find the video and watch . It's not about photography but still a very interesting topic.
