OMG! All the OP wants is recommendations for a selfie stick not a lecture on why not to use them. For those that don’t understand what or how a selfie stick is and can be used for. They can be used for more than just selfies. You can also use them to shoot away from you. They are great for shooting from a low angle without having to bend down or even from high. A selfie stick unlike a monopod will allow you to actuate the shutter on the smart phone

Jaackil, well said, Thank you!😀

Just curious: do you take selfies when you lug your camera around? The question doesn’t make sense to me. Why would you need a selfie stick to replace your camera?

Because, there are times that I would rather not carry my camera, like at a theme park. However Because of the business that I am in, I need to have my phone with me at all times.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good selfie stick.
Would like to use it on days when I don’t want to lug my camera around with me.

40-45 years ago, I loved 35mm SLRs. Last year I decided to get back into photography with a digital mirrorless. After more than a year of countless times through the manual, You Tube tutorials, and a friend suggesting settings, I still feel incompetent. And it’s not fun! I’m not (quite) ready to resort to a point and shoot, but if you have any suggestions of which cameras offer the most intuitive menus, I’d be very appreciative.

SRTfirst, I kind of feel the same way, a couple of months ago I bought the Fujifilm T-30. Have been toying around with it since. However I just went on a recent trip to China and came back with nearly 1000 pics. Of that there is a small handful of pictures that I like. Everything seems off on almost all of the pictures. Just can not seem to get the hang of it.

Years ago, with my SLR the majority of the pics were pleasing.

Jerry, in a previous post I posted a pdf that may help you through the menu process.
Here it is:

I know that there are some people out there who might get upset with me for posting.
The last time I posted, I was told to that I have no business having this camera! And I
have not posted since. I was thinking of just leaving the group, but have found that
most people here are friendly and truly try to help the community.

So as my story goes, I am back to being a beginner as I have not done any serious
photography in over 30 years. When I was in my early 20's I had a small photography
business that actually did fairly well.

Well the reason for this post, is that I am hoping this will help others with the new
Fujifilm X-T30. The attached PDF is how I set up my menu, it will also give you a
better view of the menu without having to sift through all the camera settings one by
one.

Hopefully this will help some of you out.

Look into a disc golf cart. They have storage, large wheels to go over terrain and you can sit on some models. Here is an example of one manufacturer.

It's early and I haven't had enough coffee but I'm curious as I have a X-T3. If you set your camera to Raw first in any other mode but A and then switch to A mode do you then lose the Raw ability?

Yes, when I set to Raw in Other mode and switch back to the A it reverts back to Fine.

Thank you everyone for understanding. I just thought that the comment from WessoJPEG was uncalled for as I felt everyone was here to help one another.

Thank you everyone for your awesome assistance! I thought this group was here to help, but since I am just getting back into photography(since my SLR days) I asked a couple of questions that seem to really bother people, so I may or may not lurk around, but I will not post in this forum any longer. I have found dial that in other forum’s the people there were much more willing to help a newbie to the digital age. Thank you again for leading me to these other forums.

A QUICK NOTE: on the Fujifilm X-t30 when you set the ‘auto mode selector lever’ to A, you lose the ability to set the image quality to: Raw + Fine, Normal + Raw, or Raw. Leaving you with just the Fineor Normal options.

I saw that in the book as I explained above. However it takes a bit more searching to find out that you can not shoot raw when in full automatic mode when it is set to A on the auto mode selected level.

I have noticed that I can not seem to find how to set this camera to shoot in raw format.
I have Image Size set to L 3:2
However when I go to Image Quality, it only has two options: Fine & Normal.
In the manual it shows 5 options: Fine, Normal, Raw + Fine, Normal + Raw & Raw.
Is there something I am doing wrong or missing?

Sorry for the question, but I am a newbie to this stuff after many years of using point and shoots since the old SLR days.

Hello, I am new to the forum and want say hello to everyone. I went to photography school back in the film days. I am now wanting to get involved with nightscape photography and maybe some astrophotography. I am looking to get a dslr and have looked at the popular brands. Nikon 5500, Canon Eos m6 and Sony. My peice cap is $1000.00. Are there any suggestions from any experienced people on what camera may be suggested? They all seem technically similar and I see mirrorless is a rend. I need sharp low light setup.
Any suggestions?

Look into the Fujifilm cameras. You’ll get much more bang for your buck over Sony.
