I have noticed that I can not seem to find how to set this camera to shoot in raw format.
I have Image Size set to L 3:2
However when I go to Image Quality, it only has two options: Fine & Normal.
In the manual it shows 5 options: Fine, Normal, Raw + Fine, Normal + Raw & Raw.
Is there something I am doing wrong or missing?

Sorry for the question, but I am a newbie to this stuff after many years of using point and shoots since the old SLR days.

I saw that in the book as I explained above. However it takes a bit more searching to find out that you can not shoot raw when in full automatic mode when it is set to A on the auto mode selected level.

I’d be interested to see where in the manual it says that you can’t shoot raw in full auto - you can certainly shoot raw with auto on my Fuji.

Thank you everyone for your awesome assistance! I thought this group was here to help, but since I am just getting back into photography(since my SLR days) I asked a couple of questions that seem to really bother people, so I may or may not lurk around, but I will not post in this forum any longer. I have found dial that in other forum’s the people there were much more willing to help a newbie to the digital age. Thank you again for leading me to these other forums.

A QUICK NOTE: on the Fujifilm X-t30 when you set the ‘auto mode selector lever’ to A, you lose the ability to set the image quality to: Raw + Fine, Normal + Raw, or Raw. Leaving you with just the Fineor Normal options.

That comment was uncalled for. The guy asked a legitimate question and that's the best you can do? Whether you meant it in jest or not, it comes across as a rude reply. Why not share your expertise with the OP rather than posting snide remarks?

Your question certainly didn’t bother me, and regardless of whether you think my response was helpful, that was certainly my intention. I took the trouble to download the manual for your camera, look up what I believe was the answer to your original question, screen print the page and post a reply. You should note that there was nothing in your original post that mentioned that the two settings were available only in automatic - you simply asked why you couldn’t shoot in raw. In your 2nd post, you clarified the issue and had apparently found the answer. Your answer surprised me, as I had not seen this behavior with my Fuji and simply asked you for the reference in the manual. I fail to see how my attempts to assist you were unhelpful.

Now if you’re referring to wescojpeg’s, rude post, I completely agree - it was puzzling and uncalled for, and three members have called him out over it. On a public forum, there will always be a couple of rude people, and periodically, you will have the misfortune run across one, which can be unsettling, but I hope you don’t let that one experience prevent you from participating in this forum, where the vast majority are nice, helpful people.

Cheers

It's early and I haven't had enough coffee but I'm curious as I have a X-T3. If you set your camera to Raw first in any other mode but A and then switch to A mode do you then lose the Raw ability?

Welcome to the forum.
PLEASE do not allow one asshole to discourage you from here. I too am kinda new and I am in the same level as you except you have are a step ahead of me by jumping in and getting the x-T30.
When I decided to move up to a DSLR from my now broke SLR, I felt like the Fuji would fit me the best.
I am hoping to move up the the x-t30 eventually. I have used point'n shooters because they were affordable and easy to carry. When was new here I posted a reply to a member offering my help. I too received a nasty reply from some jerk. I asked him why, he called me an idiot or something like that. I invited him to come to Texas and I receive a free ass whipping. Never heard back. This site has been very helpful to me and countless others. Many many wonderful people here. I got a used DSLR last year that my current lenses would work on. This got me learning and using DSLR again from the previous film SLR.
You have a great camera and it serve you for years. Again, welcome to the forum and I hope you stick around. Lots of helpful people here.

Try setting it on Shutter Priority and single mode. That should give you the option in the menu now for RaW
