You didn't say anywhere i the discussion that you want or would use the lens. $1400 is alot of cash for smething you really don't want or need.

The opening sentence of the link says it all, highest sales at one camera dealer!
When I sold cameras (Canon AE-1 era) the bosses stressed one particular brand or model to sell. Usually the camera with the highest profit per unit. At my store, Ricoh slr, could build a multi-lens kit for the price of one Canon or Nikon.

If you are serious about portraits, I suggest that you look at less power and multiple units so yoou can do some highlighting of your subjects features.

Certified filters in a carboard holder are fine and are availabe for$20 for the 3in size from B&H. They don't have to be photoglass.

Up here in New England they are usually infested with ticks and rabies. Not sure if I would gobble one down.
