You can download the PDF for free from the Canon website. You can download all the software too, including making sure the firmware is up to date, if needed.

I looked at the PDF but it is 404 pages. I would rather pay for a copy of the full manual that carry that much paper around.
I will try to get the software and the firmware thru the net.
Thanks for the comment.

Well, I did it.
Ordered a used 5DIII (with only 103 clicks) and a 24-70 F4L lens from Cameta on Friday.
To my surprise, the FedEx man dropped it off about 10:30 on Saturday.
Initial pictures of my dog and my wife are very good.
Looking forward to using it on a better weather day than what we have today. Rain and wind.
Waiting for the manual I ordered from another venue to start to learn to set it up.
Thanks for all the suggestions and comments received.
UHH people are very helpful.

I did look at the Canon store but they only had 5DIV's.
I did misspeak in my initial submission. Cameta has "Used" 5D3's with a low shutter count.

I previously was thinking of going from my Canon 60D to a Nikon 750.
There were a lot of comments from both directions, for and against.
I have been thinking on the suggestions and have looked at the various Canon full frames and find that a refurbished
5DIII at Cameta is a reasonable option with a rating of Mint and a very low shutter count.
It is the lens that I would be buying that has me confused. What would be a good multi-purpose lens for this camera until I can start
getting some additional prime and tele lenses? 24-70? 70-200? Sigma or Tamron or Canon L?
I have a trip to the Rockies planned in June or July.

I am still here and trying to absorb the numerous suggestions and advise that have come back regarding this subject.
I have looked at the Canon 6DMII and the 5D's and have felt the D750 with its double card slot, the in-camera flash and some other options would be the better choice.
I do appreciate the advice regarding the refurbished models but the Nikon is only like $150 or $200 less with only a 90 day guarantee so I would think the new model is the way to go.
Thanks for all the replies and helpful hints from all who responded.

I am thinking of moving from my current Canon 60D to a Nikon Full Frame D750 with the 24-120 lens.
I know there are supporters of both brands in the UHH but I can't afford the Canon full frames at this point and, at 72 years old, I'm not sure I will be around to fully enjoy a 5DIII or IV.
Am I thinking about this too deeply, or should I just go ahead and do it?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi, Regis. I don't think I would like being attacked by an osprey (or any other large raptor such as an eagle) when they have talons like these on their legs.

I'm not a prude either, but the same thing applies to the stand-up comics nowadays. Can't talk without using the "F" word.
And they believe that it makes them seem intelligent.

Very nice. Almost looks like one of those Civil War cannons that you see at battlefields.

I would like to say that each picture gets better, but you have presented so many great ones that all of them seem to be first class.
Excellent post.

My personal preference would be to leave well enough alone.

Huey Driver -
Don't know where you got your history from but Dutch van Kirk died on July 28th, 2014.
This might have happened, but it wasn't last week.
He was a very humble man according to what I have read about him.
He was from Northumberland, PA which is about 18 miles from my home in Mifflinburg.
