I took up the Captain's invitation early this morning to come back to Lochabar Springs property with a camera in daylight. This is a secure area and not open to the public.
I was immediately greeted by the guard dog who recognized me as the guy who slipped him some roast beef. He came running over the bridge and licking and tail wagging.
This first shot is the 1/2 mile private road to the cottage and spring.
The column might not look straight, because it is NOT straight.
The spring is the largest spring in the state of PA. The color is not enhanced. The other view is from the foot bridge looking the other way where the spring flows into Antes Creek.

Sitting outside my garage thismorning, hoping to catch the deer that pay an occasional visit, when this little fella showed up. Sorta colorful and friendly, so, with no deer in sight, I photograped this little mosquito eater.

Oly E-M1 MkIII with Oly 12-40 F2.8 Pro. Shot in E-Zoom at full 160mm.

Nice catch, Dean

The Blue-tailed Skink, ‘Christmas Island Blue-tailed’, is a species of skink that is indigenous to the Christmas Island of Australia. They are all around my home and the eastern US, I have seen them as small as 1 1/2 inch.

Prices of XQD and CFE cards are ridiculously high right now. I paid $155 for one 64GB XQD and a pair of 64GB UHS-II SDXC cards. At least with B&H, I didn't pay the $12.40 sales tax. Looking back, I see that I bought a 64GB card for $54 in 2002. I can get a 64GB Sandisk card now for $18. I hope the newer cards come down in less than ten years. I'm certainly not going to stock up on them.

Actually a 128GB CF express card is $40.00 cheaper than two years ago.

I'm looking to insure my photographic equipment in a separate policy from my home owners policy. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Personal item policy, State Farm or your homeowners if they have something equivalent.

I just purchase a Nikon AF 55mm Micro lens off Facebook market place. It came with a Nikon D8008 camera and 5 rolls of film for $30 which was a great deal. I’m also going to try out the camera tomorrow. But when I got home and really looked at the lens the focus ring was broke and part of the ring is missing. Does anyone know of a place I can buy a focusing ring for this lens? The lens works perfectly with my d850 the only reason I would want to fix the focusing ring is for manual focusing. I’ve looked on eBay and Amazon. Also the film is expired the Kodak expired on 6-2016 and the kentmere on 11-2017 can I still use the film? Thank in advance.

If you are unable to find part on Ebay find someone with a 3D printer and take pieces and some exact measurements. Good luck

Thanks for sharing, I haven't watched in a long time. This is just another reminder in current times we have actors in the past we had entertainers like Cagney & Hope that could do it all.

I am considering placing this image in a competition in a couple of weeks. The thing that has me wondering about it is the sunlight in the bottom left corner. I have tried a crop to get rid of it and have included that for comparison. This has the added benefit of taking some of the dead space out of the sky. I also considered cloning shadows into that corner so as to save the texture on the right side of the picture, but have not done that. Any comments and help will be appreciated

Personally, I would just shade in the lower left corner with a brush in post. The light going up the left side look good to me.

So, when you put the hood back into its proper usage location, aka 'on', what are the results? I'd certainly make that verification before engaging in any $$$ related actions.
