Sitting outside my garage thismorning, hoping to catch the deer that pay an occasional visit, when this little fella showed up. Sorta colorful and friendly, so, with no deer in sight, I photograped this little mosquito eater.

Oly E-M1 MkIII with Oly 12-40 F2.8 Pro. Shot in E-Zoom at full 160mm.

Tks Will, I didn’t know what it was, other than a lizard.

Nice catch, Dean

The Blue-tailed Skink, ‘Christmas Island Blue-tailed’, is a species of skink that is indigenous to the Christmas Island of Australia. They are all around my home and the eastern US, I have seen them as small as 1 1/2 inch.

Sorry, but more likely a (American) five-lined skink (Plestiodon fasciatus) is a species of lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to North America. It is one of the most common lizards in the eastern U.S. and one of the seven native species of lizards in Canada.
Other common names for P. fasciatus include blue-tailed skink (for juveniles) and red-headed skink (for adults). It is technically appropriate to call it the American five-lined skink.

I have one (actually more!) around my home.
