How does it loop through the pics?
I use an old 32" Vizio TV. Here are the steps: Make sure TV is on before plugging in the Flash Drive to USB port. My TV presents a window that says it detects the drive and asks if i want to access it. I click yes and I see several options. One option is "Start Slide Show". Each image displays for 5 seconds. This is a bit fast. Not sure if I can change that. Also, this may not be an issue for you but, my TV is so old that if my images are too big I get a "Resolution not Supported" message. A 1024x768 image looks fine on the screen. An lastly for my TV the Flash Drive has to be formated for MS-DOS (FAT). Newer TV's probably accept both MS-DOS and Mac formats. Good Luck and if you have more questions just ask.

Hi! I would LOVE to get a digital frame and just let it run ... that is a fantastic suggestion! Do you have any recommendations for me, like what brand and what size? Thanks so much!

Get an old flat screen TV with a USB port. Fill a flash drive with photos and use the USB port to display your photos on screen. I placed mine on a low cabinet. Works great.

We are viewing the center of the galaxy from the edge.

It's my understanding that the stars of our galaxy rotate about its center on roughly the same plane. This is similar to how the planets of the solar system circle the sun. If so, shouldn't the "dounut" of light circling the black hole be rotated about the black hole 90 degrees, thus obscuring the black hole?

I upgraded from the 6D to 6D MII two years ago. I'm primarily an outdoor/landscape shooter. I love each of these cameras. The following is my response to a Canon hater from a few years ago.

To answer the first question “ Is anyone really HAPPY with the specs of the new Canon 6DII? YES I am. It fits my needs wonderfully. I currently shoot with the 6D and a couple of Canon’s best lenses. I’ve used it for 3 years and love it.

Battery life is a high priority. The LP-E6 and LP-E6N batteries have outstanding battery life. I can use my existing 6D batteries with the 6D MarkII.

Image Sensor of 26.2MB is a 6MB increase. I can get a wonderful 30”x24” print from my 20MB images now so the 6MB increase is welcome but not necessary for me. I won’t need to get larger capacity memory cards either.

One slot for SD cards works for me. I use 8GB and 16GB cards and swap them out regularly for safety. I download to a solid state drive every evening or whenever I have a long break. It’s probably a matter of not knowing what I’m missing, but I’m currently content with the one slot.

Articulating LCD is a huge plus. My first DSLR had this feature and I have missed it badly. It is invaluable for shots taken over peoples shoulders in a crowd (I’m 5’ 7” tall), when on my knees taking a low reflection shot, with the camera on a tripod in Antelope Canyon, night shots of the sky directly over head, etc.

Touch Screen LCD. The touch focusing is intriguing but I will have to wait to pass judgement on this feature. ( Today I find I use it more and more. it's a great feature.)

Focus Points going from 11 to 45 with increased focus speeds is a big plus.

Frames per second is a non issue for me. It is well outside my needs. To say I should have it just because it is state of the art or I might want it someday doesn’t register to me as a short coming of Canon. It would just fill my memory card faster and take up more time in post production work.

Video is another non issue. It eats up the battery and fills my memory cards too fast. I carry a little point and shoot for video or rely on my phone. I relate 4k video more to serious production work. I don’t understand the need for that resolution for the masses. 4K also requires more processor speed for the recipient of the video. So needless to say I don’t need the headphone jack.

Dust and water resistance is a huge plus for outdoor and landscape work.

The WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity is huge too. I use WiFi now with the 6D. I don’t have to take a few extra photos with my phone to share with my friends.

GPS not so much. It eats up the battery too fast.

The built-in time-lapse feature is welcome and way overdo. I do a lot of night work.

Increased ISO range is welcome but I don’t expect to shoot out at those extreme ranges. Hopefully this means the noise is reduced even more in the 12800-25600 range.

So to answer your last question, I guess Canon is THINKING about me. Thank You Canon.

In closing:
The 6D MII is a great camera. I know this camera will suit my needs for many more years. On the other hand, mirrorless technology is beginning to peak my interest. I agree you should give the Canon RP a look. For me, I'm going to wait another year or two. The Sony dominance in mirrorless full frame has been seriously affected by Nikon and Canons latest entries.. They seem to have caught the leader in one fell swoop. I still see Sony as an electronics company, Canon and Nikon as camera companies. I think as exciting as the last year has been, in respect to mirrorless, the best is yet to come.

As for reviews, I suggest only paying attention to those features of most importance to you and disregard the rest. I saw a review of two cameras that point for point were nearly identical. In the end one was rated lower because it didn't come in enough colors!

Great shot. Looks like you got a perfect night. Please forgive my ignorance here, I live near Seattle and 32 degrees is cold for us. Are you actually out on the ice or on dry land near the Planetarium?

Randall, no post?

I've taken his workshops (lessons). His only post work may be a tiny adjustment to the exposure and a search for dust spots. That's it! His goal in his workshops is to have each student understand their camera settings and how to use them. He's a Sing-Ray Ambassador and they designed a new ND filter in his name...Randall J Hodges Mountain View Neutral Density Filters. (Sorry, didn't mean for this to sound like an ad.)

I use my computer's folder system. I create a dated folder for each session shoot. I copy the shots into the folder. Then backup all folders and images to a removable SSD drive. If I post process a photo I will add a one or two letter "post descriptor", a photo description and a file size if saved compressed. Here are examples for post processing the IMG_2348 and IMG_2351 files.

It's my understanding and forgive me if I'm wrong, that Adobe took from Photoshop those commands that most applied to the manipulation of digital photography to create Lightroom. As well as adding a powerful photo management system.

This short magazine article may be of service in comparing each:

This has bitten me too often. I now remove the polarizer and do a little PS work with the natural sky. Where was this taken. What a beautiful spot.

Which trail is this on? What's the name of the slot canyon? Thanks. Nice shot. Have you been to Antelope Canyon, Upper or Lower?
