There are several really great slot canyons in Escalante. Fairly easy access and not difficult to enter or walk through and photograph. I used a 14-24 Nikon (rented) to capture this photograph. The best times for slot canton photographs is between 11 and 1, preferably closer to the edges. The sunlight enters at a sufficient angle to reflect and re-reflect the light off the colored walls and creates very cool shades, hues and shadows.
I'll take a break from posting for a while so no one gets bored.
Absolutely beautiful! When I start planning our trip from Tucson to Washington State this year I will plan on a stop here. Thanks for posting and would like to see more when you have time.
Please do NOT stop posting, been there once, never get bored looking at GREAT PICTURES !!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful! But I'd certainly check the rain forecast before going in?
Beautiful. These canyons are priceless.
Nice! Don’t stop posting--your landscapes are both interesting and excellently done. I enjoy seeing them.
I agree. Don't stop posting. I was at Escalante 10 years ago but missed the slot canyons, so this is catch-up for me!

Wow excellent capture. You nailed it. And I've tried photographing in slot canyons. Exposures can be tricky.
Well done.
Nice! Hard to get bored with good photography like this.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

No No!! Don't stop posting. This is a great photo. Keep up the good work!
Keep posting. I love the slots in Escalante. My friend and I explored a few of them. Hunted for another, but after hiking for miles and finding nothing, turned back. Not a profitable day! I guess the map was wrong!
