I like the first one, with the color in the sky.
I have had similar service from UPS, such as delivery to incorrect address one mile away, lawn mower dropped and damaged, Steam cleaner sold by my spouse on Ebay was damaged during delivery, altho UPS charged her more than $100 to pack and ship it from NC to CA.
I like Dr.Nikon's PP of the baby.
I keep my large collection in an old folder called Pictures, with several layers of subfolders, arranged alphabetically. I use Adobe Bridge to download new pictures and maintain my collection. I can always find what I want. Don't use the applications Photos or iPhoto, because they want to keep their own library.
My favorite camera is a Leica Q. I have used other Leicas for most of my photography, for about 20 years. Have sold and traded a few, and still own a few, and they still work.
An easy low-tech improvement is to open the image in any software (I use Adobe Bridge CS5) that has a linear response curve, and push up the black end, then pull down the middle and white end to preserve the rest of the picture.
We have lived near Asheville for 28 years. Parkway both directions from here gets high in the mountains, with exciting overlooks for photos. It is frequently closed in winter. nps.gov keeps an up-to-date map online showing the open and closed areas. A popular hiking trail called Mountains-to-Sea Trail runs through many of the overlooks, marked by a round white dot on trees or posts.
Yes, too soon. When I was young (1940s and 50s), Christmas was promoted after Thanksgiving, not before.
Now we have lost Thanksgiving.
My pocket camera is an Olympus TG-1. Waterproof, nearly indestructible, goes on canoe trips and hikes. Current model is TG-5.
I like Leica cameras because of their mechanical design like using a hand tool, and respecting the Leica role in the invention and long historical development of convenient sized cameras some of which (the M series) can use excellent lenses which are decades old. When digital was new, I bought a Leica Digilux 2 (made in Japan) and took thousands of pictures by visiting beautiful places. Have to start posting them for you. Photo'd and posted the entire herbarium collection of Mount Mitchell State Park in NC.
My first car was a 1936 Olds, made the year that I was born. A gas station attendant once asked me if I had bought it new.
I tell people that I go to pretty places and look for things that I like.
Leica M series are mechanical rangefinder manual focus cameras continuing more than half a century with same or similar changeable lenses. Transitioned to digital about 10 years ago. Same lenses still work, but are not auto focus.
I use Adobe Bridge CS5 which I purchased as part of Photoshop years ago and have on my computer. No rentals, no online service. I am content to crop and adjust my photos with a few sliders. I have neither the desire nor the patience to do the countless corrections which Photoshop enables.
