it is for both full frame FX and cropped frame DX . . .
Looks like motion blur to me . . . . suggest you raise your ISO until you can get a shutter speed of at least 100-125 . . . . that's what i'd do . . . .
i think the D500 is much better in low light . . .
Since you mentioned you liked doing landscapes and old barns and wanted to do macro . . . I'd recommend a full frame camera like the D750 or D810 . . . Both can be bought used at bargain prices . . . If money were no object, I'd go with the D850. On the other hand, if your current lenses are all DX, then I'd probably go for the D7200 or D500 . . .
Of the three . . . The D5500 is the best . . . But if you can come up with more money . . . I'd go with the 7200/7500 . . .
That's why I changed all my tripods heads to one's that would accept 'arca swiss' plates . . . It simplifies everything so much . . . And every camera/scope/etc has arca Swiss plates . . .
I have a D500 and it is OUTSTANDING!!! The only full frame I would consider would be the the D850 . . .
I changed mine to Arca-Swiss and on everything bought since (tripods, monopod, sand bag, etc.) have the arca-Swiss also. It is the most universal mounting system out there. I have 3 Sirui ball heads (arca swiss) very well made and reasonably priced . . .
I like my Tamron 18-400 . . . Covers all the bases . . .
The "Angry Photographer" did that on u-tube . . . Since he is mostly a Nikon guy . . . I think he also used a Canon . . .
Go to your local camera shop and test drive the D500 . . . Your lenses will work on it . . .
Happens when taken thru a double pane window . . .
The most awesome thing was the ice (chunks the size of houses) Rolling and tumbling down the Yukon River in Galena Alaska during spring breakup. Saw this year's ago when in the Air Force . . . We were just visiting the detachment there and I didn't have a camera along . . . 😦
