I am an amateur and relatively new to UHH. I am looking for some advice for a new camera. I presently have a Nikon D7000 with the kit lenses (18-55, 55-200), a 50mm f1.8, Sigma 105mm EX and a Tokina 100-400 (bought the last 2 used on ebay). I enjoy shooting landscape, water, old farm buildings and venturing into macro. Feeling somewhat limited with my camera and am looking into used equipment. Any suggestions? Budget is limited.

Refurbished Nikon D7200 or if you want to go full frame, refurbished Nikon D750.

Could you be more specific in how you feel limited by your D7000? What are you not getting from your images that you think a new body would help?

Why do you feel limited with that camera? There is not much that that camera can not do?

The camera and lenses you have are enough to enjoy photography. If you were to upgrade, then the D7200, refurbished, would be an upgrade from 16 megapixels to 24 megapixels.

Interesting how the one person that actually answered the question didn't question the OP's reason why.

Echoing rmorrison1116,
I felt limited by my old Canon 50D 16MP. Thieves and Insurance enabled me to upgrade. I wanted more megapixels because I wanted to be able to crop aggressively sometimes, and with 24MP I would have decent Image Quality afterwards. I wanted it to have a flip out screen for low angle shots and I wanted a lighter body. That helped me sort through to possible replacements. I suggest you create a similar matrix of your Must Have features/functions and then simply search the MFG's site for the specs that fill the bill. Be sure to take care to limit your selections by price to fit your budget and the APS-C or Full Frame.

You'll likely come up with the cameras that the Hogs suggested, BUT ya never know.

Good Luck
C

I have a D7000 and a D500. I still use the D7000. It's not limiting at all. The D500 is superior. It has Nikon's best autofocus system now used in the D5, D500, and D850. It has a dedicated processor for just the autofocus. In previous Nikons, the main CPU carried out both image processing and autofocus duties. A nice feature is the separate joystick controller. I do a lot of studio photo shoots. I use the joystick to move the autofocus point around to make sure the model's face is always in best focus. If you want a significant upgrade go for a D500.

That’s because I believe in answering the question posed not in telling the OP what question I think should have been asked. Unfortunately, most posters on this site prefer the paternalistic approach. How troubling that I am the only one who directly answered the inquiry.
