I'm not a birder, so can't speak to that. I also have never used a D500. I have a G9 - switched from Sony. I shoot basketball with it (my son is a college coach) and portraits. From all I've read, both the D500 and Sony A7iii would do a better job of sports shooting. I don't care. I love my G9; it's fun and it's a much better camera than I am a photographer so it doesn't limit me in any way. My only complaint is noise at 6400 and above, but the advantages far outweigh that for me. Oddly enough it and the Pentax K1 feel better in my fairly large hands of other camera I've ever tried.

Ditto on B; no car is more better.

I LOVE my Panasonic G9. I could just as easily have a Sony A7iii. There are limitations, but there are also many many advantages. It's put the fun back into photography for me. When I get to the point where I really need more, I'll add full frame or medium format, but I can't see putting down the G9.

I don't mean to be snarky, but wouldn't someone have to be very gullible to refund money that wasn't received? On top of that, if you're not set up for it, wiring money is cumbersome and time consuming. I guess there probably are folks who don't know that the money's not instantly in your account when they deposit a check.

I prefer the Black and White. I don't think the color adds anything to the image; to me it's a distraction.

I say "Thank you".

I'm sure we've all heard this a few times at least...and I'm wondering about the verious ways we respond to those well-meaning comments. Often our 'inner voice' is saying, "Hey, I took that photo, I selected the lighting, composition, timing, exposure, etc...the camera was just the tool I used...!" Our better angels usually come to the rescue with some version of, "Thank you, very much", but I'd like to hear the reactions or responses from others.

Who hasn't heard the snappy come-back that goes something like..."Shakespeare wrote some great plays, he must have had a very good typewriter..!"

Agree with other comments. IMO this is definitely a scam.

Found this link http://www.newtheshop.com which has some equipment very cheap and was wondering if anyone has come across this and made a purchase. In this day and age I’m a skeptic when I come across something like this. If this is legit, wow, you can have top equipment very cheap.

I just got one and absolutely love it. Best feeling camera I've ever had in my hand (which is fairly big). For me, it's perfect weight and size with the Leica 12-60 for an all around kit. Took it on vacation two days after getting it and had the highest keeper rate ever.

My house sits up the hill from the La Paloma resort and every year they have a nice little fireworks display for their guests. It may not be as spectacular as some of the other shows here in Tucson but the fact that I can sit on my pool deck and not have to worry about someone bumping in to my tripod or walking in fron of the camera more than makes up for the size. I wanted to show the little details of the individual burst that you normally cannot see with naked eye so I zoomed in to 70mm with my Sony a6000 and 18-105 G lens, set the ISO at 125, the aperture at f16 and the shutter speed at 10 seconds. I shot with manual focusing and just sat there with a remote shutter release in one hand and a Margarita in the other and just kept taking 10 second shots until the display was over.

I shot in RAW in case there was some color correction or exposure problems that needed to fixed in Lightroom but very little post processing was needed other than the cropping and some small corrections on the highlights slider. I love the fact that the longer exposure lets you see all the little details that might be missed by the naked eye.

I got rid of my almost all my arthritis by doing this. No drugs, no supplements, no "products" It's a miracle. https://www.drmcdougall.com/ Took less than three months.

I am a photo enthusiast and I have rheumatoid arthritis. My hands don’t work well and I can’t hold heavy objects for very long. I try to compensate for this by using a Fuji x100s and an Olympus EM-1, mark 1, bcause they’re light and small. [I like the cameras. I don’t feel that they’re any sort of compromise.] I try to use light camera bags, as well. Does anyone have other suggestions for types of bags that are lighter than most or other accessories that are small and light, but useful in photography. For example, I recently ordered a Platypod Ultra tripod substitute because it’s so small and light. Is there a way to engage in photography to minimize fatigue and the pain of accessing good photo sites outdoors? I should confess that my one questionable indulgence is the purchase of a Panasonic 100-400 lens because I really like bird photography. I accept the reality that I can use this lens only at limited times.

Thanks,
