Most editors wouldn't be worth their salt if they didn't do the basics you mentioned. AP1 is great for what you and many of us do. The one new feature that's a big deal is, if you use AP for raw development then make adjustments in the editor you can go back into the raw development and readjust. You can switch back and forth between the two. That's very cool. You can't do that in 1. I don't use AP for a raw developer so it doesn't benefit me.

Fine Art America also has a usable free account. With the very affordable account you can use their store front to sell on.

Pretty sure there will be a R1 mirrorless to replace the 1D, which means the very good R3 is not the flagship camera. Could be Nikon will follow suit.

You asked for a free photo viewer. Faststone Image Viewer at faststone.org is good and free. It might meet your needs.

I have been in manufacturing since High School almost 50 years ago, and have been concerned about this trend for a long time. How do you have a domestic gross national product, without a product? We can't all be engineers or service providers. BTW China produces something like 10 engineers to every 1 in the US. I unfortunately have been involved as an engineer in transitioning a few of our products to China. The political or regulatory process is incredibly easy, at least to have something made there. Not so the other direction. We wanted a specific USA made component used in our product. A small subassembly of a large product. They first had to research to see if there was an equivalent component made in China, if so, they had to use it and could not use an import. This struck me as shrewd, intentional and intellegent policy making on China's part, to, maybe unfairly, protecting their economy. Where as here in the US our political leadership has had such short sighted vision or none whatsoever, for our economic future. As I've said for a long while now "The problem with politics is too many politicians. ". (Brave Heart). Every country needs people who are competent in their respective field helping to craft public policy. I'm all for a free economy, but each country has got to look after their economic future in fair and responsible way.

If I understand , your needing a backup program more than a photo organizer. There are free versions available which you can set up to copy all your files from one drive to another. Depending on settings it will copy or not the newest version with the same file name. Can't remember what I use but a quick search will give you some free options and they're very flexible as to how you can set them up.

Now that's funny. I should have waited.
