Great shot Regis. One came flying very close to my car the other day and I almost wrecked my car watching it for a couple seconds. It landed about 1/8 th of a mile from me and I am sure you would guess, "NO" camera with me.
Excellent shot. I still miss the Fuji film back in the day, it was powerful
To my knowledge it has not occured here. I still have venues who refer clients to me but I have slowed down on weddings due to health and the longer 8+10 hour days. Seems like weddings have gotten much longer in the past few years (maybe just me) although my prices have risen to compensate and added a photographer to assist for some of the shoot or do video if requested. Must say, I now lean to the high end weddings and refer others. Thirty plus years is a long time but has been great most of the time, especially when the brides eyes light up when she sees the finished product. Much of my energy is now shooting as an on-call for magazines along with corporate headshots and product shoots. Fortunately my studio is in my home now and has all the flexibility that my outside studio had except the high rent. I don't see high end wedding photography slowing down in this country but I do believe brides are expecting more and are willing to pay for it, especially if referred. There are a lot of photographers out there who will shoot a small fee as they start up or learning. I was fortunate to with for a great photographer when starting to shoot weddings, (we only used Medium Format film) so I have tried to pass that on but in digital format.
I believe I saw FL (Florida) in your name. If so there are some great photo labs here. If you contact a couple you will find the prices are very good and the quality is usually excellent. Bay photo labs are good and Reedy labs would be two places to start....
The best one for me was fruit carefully placed in a very clean cut glass bowl and slightly tilted. The bowl sat on a black piece of shiny plexiglass. Experiment with various lighting techniques. I ended up with a light from above and one below and to the side at various powers. I was for a book cover years ago and sorry i know longer have the photo. Spent most of my time on lighting variations plus some spray to dull a few pieces of fruit and another spray (light cooking oil) to enhance the glow. Good luck.
How old is the 7d ll & approx pic count.
The price would be very important
Thanks
Ron
Not sure of the size of your ring light but mine is 2 ft and I use almost any soft white material to soften and diffuse the light falling on the subject.. Take a look in your local fabric store or even a Salvation Army store. I have a variety of colors which i use. I take a smaller LED flashlight with me and shine it thru the fabric. Very, very inexpensive.
Well a good effort and I applaud you. This may be more suited for a cycle magazine which there is nothing wrong with that. I have shot a few for one of those and sought out the perfect gal for it and soon found it rounded out the shoot with a similar guy in the shots. There is definitely a good time for tats so find that place and utilize it. Sorry but I wasn't excited about the lighting, I felt you had some opportunities to showcase but thought it never quite made it. One of the things I still do is pick up several current magazines with shoots by some of the photographers I respect and use their ideas or part of them. I did think a couple of the shots hit pretty close on lighting but feel less may have been more in some of the shots producing a slightly more provocative look since you were bringing out so much of the tats. I applaud you for starting down the road to where you want to go. Don't be discouraged and "keep on keepin on." Your mind will bring you new ideas every time you sit down and look at what you shot.
Lettuce Lake Park & Zoo if you want aquatic animals. Also just completed two portrait sessions at LLP. You would never guess it was the same place.
You realize we all started somewhere. Some were exposed early by parents etc but never to late to start. Some great Utube videos may get you going quicker and be sure to practice what you see. The old saying is "right on" practice, practice, practice. People will tell you when you are good enough to charge for your work. Once there, don't give your work away.......
Yes a good quality body is important but invest in the best lens you can afford
You may have convinced me to start wildlife shots. For 28 years it has been over 500 weddings, countless portraits & special events & races of all types plus countless magazines. Think it is time to change my thought patterns and do something different.
Great shot, are you using a tripod?
Curious about the lens used, will show how courageous you were, ha ha Think I would have had at least 2000mm lens!!!! Nice work
