So, I viewed the video and I am just not buying the premise. I think the issue of product liability, misrepresentation, and deceptive practice, becomes an overriding issue with the idea that Sony is involved in a nefarious activity. Just my opinion

So, I'm at Walmart getting my prescription fill when a mid thirty dude comes strolling into the Pharmacy with his young daughter in hand looking like he hasn't seen a bath in weeks; tattered cloths, long hair, very unkept, and his daughter virtually the same. He had a Glock strapped to his waist, hanging low in a leather holster strapped to his waist like they do in the wild west. I stood my ground, looked around at nearby patrons for their reaction, and noted that he was the attention of the pharmacy. Everyone was smiles, attentive, polite, and submissive to the gun toter, with a few patrons slipping into the background. He was making his point...intimidation!

Well, I have a Nikon D850 and a 2011 Corvette Grand Sport Z16. I don't intend to upgrade my D850 to mirrorless, nor do I intend to upgrade my 2011 GS to a 2023 Mid-engine Stingray Corvette. It's a lot of money for both, and although there is an improvement in performance in both products, I'm happy with what I have. There will always be something better, but having something good is where we all want to be.

Good to know. So many people ask about travel lenses. It's good to hear from someone with experience.

I'm going to visit a friend for a couple of days, and I'm bringing my little Fuji with a small wide angle lens.

I am currently photographing covered bridges in Indiana, and have my 16-35 F-4 Nikon lens on my Nikon D850...and it is the perfect lens for these subjects. Tight areas, limited visibility, lots of vegetation and obstruction to work around. Although I have my 24-120 in my camera bag, It has not been on the camera yet. I have shot 18 bridges so far, and the wide angle 16-35 works great. I generally take 12-20 interior and exterior shots of each covered bridge. Ninety eight covered bridges in Indiana...so I have a ways to go. Indiana is a long state. Having fun, meeting some interesting people, enjoying good weather, and love the subject matter.

Everyone on this forum is here to share and learn from others, and to participate in the common interests of the group. Abusive language has no place in this forum. If you have a constructive comment...make it. If you have nothing good to say...refrain from saying anything. Let us all use common courtesy, and refrain from dragging ourselves and others into the gutter. Just my thoughts. Have a great day.

You are lucky that they didn't get out and beat the crap out of you and take your camera.

Well, I've been in two bar fights in my life, and I was the victor in both. I know just enough Karate to be dangerous. I would have welcomed the challenge. I was really mad!

I was photographing the Ceylon bridge with my Nikon D850 and 16-35 F4 lens when all this happened. Photos turned out great. I am on a mission to photograph all 98 covered bridges in Indiana. I have 18 so far.

The Cumberland Matthew Covered Bridge built in 1877 is 181 feet long and is a Howe truss construction spanning the Mississinewa River. Very photogenetic. I used my Nikon D850 with my 16-35 F4 lens. Took some great shots on a partially overcast day. I am on a mission to photograph all 98 covered bridges in Indiana. Have 18 so far.

The only thing funnier than the story would be to hear Lee's voice as he tells it.

The Cumberland Bridge in Matthews is listed at 175', and yes, it is a long bridge. The Medora Covered Bridge in Jackson County is 434', and is claimed to be the longest covered bridge in the U.S.

Any lens that is paired with a camera body technically becomes a "kit lens." I have the 28-300 but don't recall it being offered other than a single purchase. The 24-120 has often been paired with various bodies. Both are quality lens and I am a frequent user of both.

So, I'm photographing the Ceylon Bridge, a Howe Truss covered bridge built in 1862, located in Geneva, Indiana, enjoying the sunshine, moderate weather, and the site to myself, taking shots from varied locations when this navy blue panel truck pulls into the parking area adjacent to the covered bridge, stops quicky, rolls down his window, and begins to toss his litter (including food) onto the parking lot like it was a land fill. I started moving quickly toward the truck, yelling at the top of my lungs to get his attention, as he finished his deposit and speed off onto the county roadway. As I am standing in the lot fuming, a police car comes down the road and responds to my yelling and thrashing my hands in the air for attention, and sure enough he sees me and whips into the stoned lot where I was standing. I briefly told his what happened and he quickly headed down the road in pursuit. A few minutes I finished my self-imposed assignment and traveled down the same road as the offender and the police used, but never ran into either one of them. I was still hot under the collar as I left Geneva, but I had to travel some distance to Matthews, Indiana to photograph the Cumberland Matthews Covered Bridge, another Howe Truss build of 1877, so I could not linger any longer in Geneva Just never know what a day with a camera will bring.

AI is OK, as long as there is a disclosure. Without a disclosure, the submitter essentially admits the material is factually correct (not AI produced) and is subject to established repercussions if there is an infraction. With a disclosure, the submitter is certifying the material is AI produced, enhanced, or altered. Either way, the receiver knows the material is the sole work of the submitter or is an AI production. The AI acknowledgement could be represented by an emoji, seal, logo, or other designated device based on a predetermined criteria.

Of the various sites that buy used equipment - Adorama, B&H, KEH Camera and others I may not know about - who in most Hoggers opinion is the best, fairest' responsive and trustworthy.

I was told in a phone call by a major photo shop (sorry, I can't recall the name) that they pay 70% of the then market value (the average price for an identical item on Amazon) for items they buy for resale. You send the item to them, they verify the condition and value, and they submit or credit the dollar amount to you. I went to a regional camera store that dealt in used equipment and received more than I was offered by the "big boys." , and sold the items to them.

It seem that the "photomedia artist" Boris Eldagsen knew exactly what he was doing, i.e, that his submission was an altered aberration that did not meet the criteria for submission, but challenged that process to detect and disqualify his submission. With integrity and character he admitted his intent, disclosed his disqualifying manipulation of AI, refused his award and financial enhancement, and made his point clearly: that AI is a category unto itself, and should be judged accordingly.
