Looking for suggestion to improve this photo with post processing. Picture was taken as a RAW with D7000 18-300mm at dusk and cloudy sky.
Thanks.

Great Pictures Carolina Wing. I love them all. Your off to a great start with your new camera. Have fun with it.
We had a pair of Blue Bird build a nest about 20 yards from our house. I posted pictures in the thread "Blue Bird Surprise" on 4/11. Anyway I have not seem the female for about 2 weeks now. I think she may have been taken out because the male just hangs around flying at the window most of the day. I checked the nest and it has eggs, but no sign of the female. Sad!!!

Thanks. I hear them in the woods most days and every once in awhile I get to see them.

For the Woodpecker lovers, I shot this from my office window about 2 years ago with my Sony DSC-10. Rate shot to get the pair in the same picture. This shot gave me the incentive to get a D7000 and a 18-300mm lens. I hope I get another photo op for this pair.

Great shots! Can you share the camera data and distance?
I would have a hard time picking only one of the group to publish if I had to chose.

.... What brand of rubber hood did you use?
I got a Zeikos 77mm Rubber Lens Hood. Low cost <$6.

I'm taking my D7000 with Nikkor 18-300mm 3.5-5.6G on a trip to France, Germany, Swiss Alps and Northern Italy this coming June. Majority of the transportation in Europe will be train, so I got a circular polarizer filter and rubber lens hood.

Excellent pics of a beautiful bird.

I would erase the ( distracting ) object under the tail ( pic #2)

Thanks Turbo for the compliment and suggestion.

Good point. The window is a larger picture window. I did not see the female, but they have been checking out a bird house about 50 yards away.

He was definitely watching me taking pictures. Even fluttered at the window.

Today this male Blue Bird put on a show just 5 feet from my kitchen window. Never had them come this close to the house. He seem to have some kind of issue. Here are just a couple of the photos with minor cropping. I shoot them in RAW and used PS Elements 11 default to process them. Suggestion?

Great pictures Carolina! I love the one with both male and female. We enjoy a pair each spring who check out the house, but they do not stay around. Area is not open enough.

This is my first posting. I am learning how to use my Nikon D7000 with Nikkor 18-300mm lens. So much to learn. Let me know how I can improve. BTW, these pictures were taken through a window.
