For the Woodpecker lovers, I shot this from my office window about 2 years ago with my Sony DSC-10. Rate shot to get the pair in the same picture. This shot gave me the incentive to get a D7000 and a 18-300mm lens. I hope I get another photo op for this pair.

Thanks. I hear them in the woods most days and every once in awhile I get to see them.

Very nice, dggeiser. I have been chasing a pair around the woods behind our house all spring. I am beginning to believe they think it is a game :). One I enter the woods I can hear them laughing. They will not stay in one spot long enough to even focus. This is quickly becoming a cat and mouse challenge :)

And it's the challenge that keeps us happily searching for more! Good luck!:D

I accidentally double clicked and was amazed at the sharpness. Super lucky and super job on these wp's.

Nice shot! I can tell it is 2 females. Both black mustache and both red on the head does not go all the way to the beak. The one on the right is just the adult and left young female with how it's red is more "bushy". The mama is prob. looking for something to feed the young one.
