Haven't used my macro lenses in a while so I stuck a twig in a jar of sand and water and transplanted an ant to it(the ant won't cross the water) pre-focused on a spot and waited for him to walk into it.

I salute you sir !
This post reminded me of great American spirit that I once cherished and miss so much today.
With your permission I would like to use this in my Memorial Day posting.

God bless you and God bless America !

Fantastic photos !
I think I would use balloons instead, using two would provide a backup in case one fails.
I remember as a kid, my kites either nose diving or spiraling into the ground. LOL

Neil Armstrong gets laid to rest on the night of a blue moon.
When I look at that full moon tonight I will try to imagine how it felt to see the Earth rising above the horizon. WOW !

Here's a link to NASA's Curiosity rover 360 degree pano of the crater it landed in.

It was captured with a 2 megapixel camera ! ! !
Amazing what NASA has always been able to do with minimum bytes and pixels.

This is great info but I think what the OP wants to do is view in real time on his computer screen what the camera is seeing..
That wold be a great help when doing macros on my table-top studio.
Is that what a tether accomplishes as opposed to the Eye-Fi card which only transfers captured images. ?
