Haven't used my macro lenses in a while so I stuck a twig in a jar of sand and water and transplanted an ant to it(the ant won't cross the water) pre-focused on a spot and waited for him to walk into it.

Excellent idea and nice capture! Thanks for sharing :thumbup: As an afterthought maybe some sugar water would keep the ant still rather than waiting on a pre-focused position.

Treepusher: Thank you for your comment. I tried this technique on a spider once and it jumped onto my lens. Yikes !

Interesting about the sugar water, can't imagine why that would work.

This is exactly what gave me the idea of holding an ants attention. Another member had posted this link on here a while ago. Cheers :thumbup:
