I had an accident and broke my Sony a7r3 and Tamron 28-75mm lens. Roberts bought both and gave me a reasonable price.

ON1 2020 is a program that combines the best of LR and PS together in one package. It's easy to learn and you purchase the program - no subscriptions and it's about half the cost of Adobe products. ON1's education programs are great and for the most part free.

My two groups both have added Mentoring Meetings on Zoom for constructive feedback at all levels.
We also added Special Events such as movies and YouTube videos of interest. I gave a PowerPoint presentation on Macro and another member added a section on Field Work with Macro.
We have also relaxed our requirements for submissions to be reasonably recent. Now folks are reviewing their archives and that is interesting too.

Obvious assigned topics are from within your living space. May be by room, or function, age, color, or substance.

We are also investigating ways to do group projects online. One promising avenue is a single submission from 2 or 3 members. Planning, taking and post-processing as a team. This is an attempt to regain some of the personal connections of live meetings, but eliminating the direct contact.

Photography is a creative process, be creative here too!

Sorry but I'm not familiar with PSA Google. Can you give me some more info on what it is and how to access? Thanks for your response.

I was wondering what your photo club is doing to keep your members engaged during these lock-down days. We have a couple of Zoom meetings but was wondering if anyone had any other types of ideas to keep members active with their photography.

Has anyone found a good video for editing. I have difficulty editing out an object. Rather it brings other elements in? Are there unseen controls not apparent? A helpful video on controls is what I’m seeking. Thanks,
Brian

Anthony Morgantti, mrphotographer.com, has a number of quick and easy videos for ON1 that will get you up and running. Scott Davenport also has very good videos related to ON1 editing.

Maybe you folks could help me out. When I try to edit a photo directly on ON1 I'm always directed to reinstall the the software. If I try to access ON1 through MS photos the same thing happens. The only way I can access ON1 is to put my Photoshop and transfer my image from there. I've emailed ON1's support link but I haven't heard for them. Any suggestions?

Don't use ON1 PR2019. It is full of flaws. The newest version PR2020 is great and I haven't had one problem with it crashing. Some other considerations, what type of graphic card are you using and have you updated the graphic card software lately. Also, how much memory does your computer have? This software uses a lot of memory and graphics card space. Check with ON1 support if the issue continues. They will usually get back to you in a few days. Also, there are a lot of good ideas on how to improve performance on the ON1 website.

I have a 2 but decided there was enough of a difference to go with the 3. I just got mine from B&H yesterday and I'm really excited about it.

I have been using ON1 for a number of years and I really like it. First of all, it's built for photographers by photographers. Photoshop is for graphic artists and added photography. On1 PR2020 gives you the tools you find in LR and PS in one software package. For me, it's easier to use and has more features that make processing photos more interesting. I really don't care about Adobe's subscription plan but rather I wanted a program that was easy to use and fun to work with. If you are a professional photographer, stay with Adobe but if you are an enthusiast like me, I would highly recommend ON1 PR2020.

I am trying the ON1 software on their trial. I have been reading about backing up when using ON1. Seems as though some are concerned about not being able to retrieve the full editing.
I have always backed up my entire computer (Win 10) to 2 external HD’s and the cloud. I use a 5 incremental and then a full every 5th time.
Sidecars are enabled on my ON1.
Is there still something I need be worried about?

Nothing to worry about. I use the GoodSync program to backup my photo files from one external drive to another and never had a problem. I have been using ON1 for years and backup is easy using this program.

Does any one have any experience with this new version for Sony?
Thanks

I use my Tamron 28-75 as my walk-around lens. It may be the best lens that I have owned. I was so impressed with this lens that I recently purchased the Tamron 18-35 wide-angle. I waiting on the new 70-180 f2.8 which is coming soon. As you can see, I think Tamron lenses are great. They are much lighter than the Sony lenses and cost have as much. I forgot to mention that I own a Sony a7r2.

After the recent price announcements and removal of support for older versions, there is quite a bit of discussion on the internet for replacements for Lightroom and Photoshop. I sometimes use Nikon NX-D (not so powerful but sometimes more than adequate) and Olympus Workspace. Both programs are Free. I also have the Correl products (Paintshop Pro and Aftershot)

The question for discussion is what programs do you like and what programs don't you like? Why? Are you going to consider replacing Lightroom?

I am not interested in the cheapest software but value for the dollar.

Without a doubt ON1 RAW 2019 is a great alternative to Adobe and no subscription. ON1 also has an unbelievable number of videos on photography. Get a free download on their website.
