I was wondering what your photo club is doing to keep your members engaged during these lock-down days. We have a couple of Zoom meetings but was wondering if anyone had any other types of ideas to keep members active with their photography.

Zoom meetings, webinars, we’ve started doing some small shoot meetups where social distancing protocols are kept.

My two groups both have added Mentoring Meetings on Zoom for constructive feedback at all levels.
We also added Special Events such as movies and YouTube videos of interest. I gave a PowerPoint presentation on Macro and another member added a section on Field Work with Macro.
We have also relaxed our requirements for submissions to be reasonably recent. Now folks are reviewing their archives and that is interesting too.

Obvious assigned topics are from within your living space. May be by room, or function, age, color, or substance.

We are also investigating ways to do group projects online. One promising avenue is a single submission from 2 or 3 members. Planning, taking and post-processing as a team. This is an attempt to regain some of the personal connections of live meetings, but eliminating the direct contact.

Photography is a creative process, be creative here too!

All of my camera clubs have gone to Zoom or Go To Meeting for virtual meetings. Meetings consist of formal programs and image competitions or show or tell type meetings.

We usually have 20-35 participating.

Both of my clubs are doing Zoom meetings too. One of them has Instagram challenges going on throughout the month. The other one has 2 Zooms meetings per month. One is like the normal meeting, and the other is a learning meeting. I have not been attending any of the zoom meetings. I like to interact with people. If I want to watch a video I'll turn on Amazon Prime or Netflix. LOL

I started a competition on our website. Southshorecameraclub .net. Take a look at it, click on "Henry Harrow" photo contest(left side of menu). I create a new theme each week, members send me their image's to put on the website. at the end members vote for the winner. Lot's of fun.

Wide Angle Photo Club in Pensacola, FL is doing Zoom Board & membership meetings with educational programs. We are doing our annual Power of Photography Competition & show virtually this year. We had almost as many entries this year as last when we had over 900. We open the show on August 21 at 7 pm, with the announcement of the category winners and then we will exhibit the 325 images that were accepted for the show. wideanglephotoclub.org if anyone is interested in checking us out. Last year's winners are currently being shown.

I am the group president and I have been posting classes that I find on line. Our local camera store, along with Tamron, have recently put on 2 great classes. Many of the folks who make their living with photo expeditions are now offering free classes via Zoom. And You Tube is full of video learning opportunities. We are also doing some photo shoots around the area, with appropriate social distancing. We just make do. Lo
