Nice photo! What is the purpose of those metal shields on the sides of the engine?
I'm certainly not an expert train person but I do like them, especially the "steamers" and the smell of their coal smoke.
BNSF on the north side of the Columbia River Gorge going thru a tunnel in the flood basalt. The layers of the flood basalt I guess are about 1,000 feet thick at this point.
Both D&S and C&T are on my bucket list.

On a FedEx shipment I also got the "wrong address" AND "no one to sign for the package". It was the correct address and I was home and the package did not require a signature. They did deliver it a few days later. I think the driver got tired and decided to cancel a few of his deliveries.
If you use Photoshop Elements go to Enhance, Adjust Lighting, Levels, then using the black eyedropper pick the blackest point in the photo and click on it. The "fog" will be greatly reduced. see the example
