I have a few of those. Reminders of days spent working with a private investigator.

How does this remind you of your days as a PI? It sounds like you just like telling people you were a PI.

They probably have raise prices to cover increases is production cost. I’m sure they keep the prices as low as possible.

I think if you don’t know if it will on your camera,, you shouldn’t buy it.

I have the D500 with the Tamron 18-400. It’s a great combination. You can not go wrong with this. It’s not just for sports, it’s also a great all around camera.

He’s just inventing statistics. Not worth discussion. I know I’m better than him, yet I probably cull far more shamelessly. Shame ? Reeeeally, like who’s counting ? Who’s even watching ?

As I said, just invented statistics. Make up your own, everybody does. Check his archives (all pix removed). And acoarst, be sure to mark your calendar !

Studies have shown that everyone should buy a new camera every 3 years.

Ther is nothing wrong with buying a new camera. Very often someone figures out the features they want in a camera by using a camera with less features.

Since the D5600 is a DX camera, you might give consideration to the D500, which has a boatload of bells and whistles. Otherwise, you may want to consider the D7500; it's an upgrade in the same class as your D5600.

This assumes you don't want to change to mirror-less or move to FX.

I agree the D500 would make the sense for OP. It’s a great camera and I don’t think he will ever want to upgrade again.

Absolutely! This would be a perfect subject for side lighting and shadows. Or maybe you can find something under a streetlight or during a full moon, to shoot at night

From viewing some photos via a Google search, a recognizable subject only partially covered - as mentioned by Orphoto earlier - would be a good goal IMO.

I saw you are from Yakima. I think this one of the great places in this country. I believe it’s considered the Palm Springs of the High Desert.

Tamron is the best lens maker because they just make lenses. They don’t make cameras or accessories, they just make lenses. I think in a couple of years all the pros will be using Tamron lenses.

You make some excellent points. I think if switched to Nikon your clientele will take you more seriously.

You could not pay me to go back to film. I spent years of my life processing film and then years in the darkroom. I love seeing the pictures right away and knowing if I have to make corrections. I love sitting with my iPad to do my post processing while I watch tv. I love Nikon digital cameras. I am a happy camper in the digital age.
