I live on the coast in Mississippi and the Tamron repair is in New York. From the time I sent my lens off until I had it back in my hands fixed was 11 days total. Needless to say, I am very impressed with Tamron and their repair center. Thanks Tamron for such great service!!!!!! Tamron 24-70 F2.8 lens was what got repaired.

September 29th Wednesday I sent lens off with USPS to New York
October 2nd Friday received estaminet from Tamron
October 9th Saturday received my lens back and look like new

Happy you got such great service! You didn't state what lens you sent in, but the cost of the repair was not inexpensive. How did that compare to replacing the lens?

I have the Tamron 18-400. There was a problem with the zoom. Contacted Tamron and the sent me prepaid labels and a form explaining what the problem was. Got the lens back, repaired, in 10 days. They do have an excellent repair service and customer relations.

Tamron is the best lens maker because they just make lenses. They don’t make cameras or accessories, they just make lenses. I think in a couple of years all the pros will be using Tamron lenses.

It would be interesting and educational to UHH people if you could find out what they used to "lubricate" the barrel with. I have ruled out bacon grease, used motor oil, and hair oils... I use a cloth sprayed with Silicone lub allowed to dry and wipe to Lubricate sticking parts of lenses and cameras. What do you think? Can you call and find out for us DIY people, Please?

I think your playing with fire trying to lube the barrel to get inside lens. I'm sure is a complex system and lying the barrel to get it lubed seems dangerous.
If it's under 6 years old it's coveted

It is always a heart-warming surprise to learn of good and rapid professionalism these days. Thanks for sharing. I’m waiting and hoping that Tamron will make lenses for the Nikon Z mount some day.

I'll jump into the praise for Tamron and their repair facility. I had an issue with the VR function on my tele-zoom which was still under their great warranty. Sent it in for repair and had it back in less tham a week!

Never owned a Tamron lens. I own both Nikon and Fuji cameras and lenses. Not opposed to third party lenses and atamron would be on my radar. Hope to see some products from them for my Fuji and Nikons.
