It's funny and so nice how photography interest changes one's perspective, for sure!
I have found that several factors affect the clarity of moon shots. I have also found that handheld shots, starting with a speed of 1/250th, and f-16, handheld or on a tripod, your choice, will work quite well for a full moon or near full moon time. The fast speed should help with the spinning, and the f-16 should help with the dof of the moon, even at this long distance. You can let the ISO be the variable, and then remove the noise in post-processing. I'm sure those who are astral photographers can add their own information about moon shots, but these are the settings that I have found work best for me, and no, I usually don't put the camera on a tripod for a moon shot.
I use red river papers, all sizes, for at home prints. After trying it out a few years ago, I discovered that I like it better than any other I have tried.
I'll be a little sarcastic here, but perhaps this will be the path toward self-destruction of a product/s.
Congratulations!! I just think that 50 years is an awfully long time to have to wait.
I agree with mikeroetex...........the main subject seems to be the trees. There are several ways you could alter this image if you want the elevators to be the main subject. Mike's idea would be the simplest.
I like the black and whites. In #1 try removing the background and using a light gray for a background, or even a white. The background imho is way too busy. Otherwise it's got good details, even with the harsh sunlight. You might try using a tool to lighten the shadows a little, it might and might not improve. You might also consider a tighter crop from the sides.
In #2, nice crop, but the shadows could use some brightening up. It might work and might not.
Both have good details, but like the other comments, the sunlight is really harsh. That makes it dificult to do a lot of 'fixing', but you could play around a little, and perhaps use some tools and make a sketch, or some other 'altered' image, just for fun.
Thanks for giving us pictures to critique.
Seems to me that the state road folks would try to expand the parking area for a long-term solution. It does make for an interesting photo.
Has there been a problem with cars being parked along the interstate in that stretch of the road??
I agree with alandg46...drive the Denali Highway if it is not closed. If you have the time, and if it is not yet closed, take the big green bus tour through Denali National Park. If you have access to a vehicle, drive down to Seward, and tour their nature museum. There are a couple of glaciers you can stop at on that route. The board walk just south of Anchorage should be open.
Thanks for the history lessons, and hats off to the former presidents, especially Roosevelt.
The downloads are wonderful!
Wonderful shot and perfect title!
