A flawless Montana Day, temperate, sun and clouds, windy with no smoke. I've photographed this Elevator many times, a different composition. BTW It does lean toward the right. D3 AF S 24-85 1:3.5-4.5G
What would you do differently? Any feedback appreciated.

Definitely a different composition. Looks like something I might try. Maybe less sharpening or am I wrong there?

I love it. The trees take you right to the elevator. Nice. Thanks BE SAFE!

I know you were trying to let the trees lead the eye to the elevator, but they have taken over the image and become the subject. I would try cropping about 2/3 of them away from the left.

I agree with mikeroetex...........the main subject seems to be the trees. There are several ways you could alter this image if you want the elevators to be the main subject. Mike's idea would be the simplest.

Progressively darken (burn in) the trees towards the left side?

I like it as is QD. the trees take you straight to the elevator. I do, however, agree with some to crop out some of them.

Btw, exactly what is an elevator?

Thanks! I did do a little bit of sharpening, there was a very strong wind blowing, almost staggering, and I was looking for a particular effect with the leaves. Also the D3 has 12.3 mp, which may contribute. I'll take another look at it.

Thanks very much, I'll try some variations. Note the additional shot I posted.

Thank you! The leaves are very light on one side and were literally twinkling in the high winds, maybe they became a secondary subject, I will take a look at what happens if I darken them.

Thanks very much! Until 1957 the railroad ran right in front of this elevator. They are / were a collection point for grain processing and shipment. Processed grain was loaded on to trains to go to market. These are all over farm country, sometimes with rail lines intact. Others, like this one, relics of another time.
