I have one and took it to France last year and the pictures were good enough for my 77 year old eyes. It can get me almost any picture I want. My biggest complaint is that sometimes when I take pictures of the sky and am focusing in on the picture I want, it tells me to turn the camera off and on again repeatedly until I give up and give up on that picture.

I grew up in a family of 10 and on Saturday night we all took baths, one at a time in the same water. I always wanted to be either first or last. In the Army, we took#split baths

Mine too. A few years ago my wife and I helped put up f**gs at a local cemetery and went to Sheboygan, Wis to see America's tallest f**g pole. It is 400 feet tall with a 120 by 60 feet f**g. See www.acuity.com/f**g.

I really liked the last picture. We were supposed to go there a year ago, but it did not happen because of the fires. Good job.

Also home of America's tallest flag pole. It is 400 feet tall with a 60 by 120 feet flag. We went there one 4th of July just to see the flag.

Our son lives west of Le Roy, so we've driven there. There is a strip between Galesburg and Peoria that it is dangerous to change lanes. There are deep holes.

My best friend bought a home in Florida where he is going to spend 6 months and one day there which makes him a citizen of Florida.

We are considering Tennessee.

I agree with your conclusion. Last summer we went on a bus trip to National Parks of the golden west. Before the trip I insisted I would take both my FZ1000 and my P900. I told my wife they were different and the subject would dictate which one I used. The FZ1000 is the better camera, but I took only the P900 because of the longer range of the lens. There were about 50 on the bus and I saw only one or two others with cameras. I think my pictures were better than most of the phone pictures. It will be pretty hard to get much of a zoom lens in something as small as a cell phone.
I have long thought full frame cameras are doomed because the history of electronics is better, smaller, and cheaper.

Great clip, Gene. I, also stayed up late to watch Johnny. When he retired, I watched Lenno, but he was good, but not as good as Johnny. When Jay retired, I thought none of them were worth my time.

I did not know the farmer, but I have been in Toulon several times and know a few people from that area.

IL Farmer. P S I am 76 and haven't retired yet.

I don't have one, but I sure would look at the Panisonic DCTS7. It has a 20.4 meg high res sensor and an electronic 1.17m dot view finder. I know of no other camera of that size with a view finder. I have missed shots with small cameras outside because I couldn't see anything in the LCD screen.

I don't know when it will happen, but I think full frame cameras will disappear. The history of electronics is smaller faster more powerful, and cheaper. Whether DSLR s disappear is another matter, but I will never travel without my Nikon P900 or a better replacement. I have never done this, but next month we are going on a bus trip through national parks in the west. I will have my Panasonic FZ1000 with too. Some of you have suggested having a back up camera. I can.t imagine the cost, space, and weight it would take to equip a DSLR required to capture everything I can get with what I have, but my eyes are undoubtedly not as good as many of you, so you do what you have to to meet your standards. I am always anxious to upgrade my equipment to the next best thing.

The Panasonic DC-FZ80 impresses me. It has an 18.2 MP sensor and a Leica 20 to 1200MM lens. It has a crop sensor that can go out to 2400, but some of the reviews indicate quality drops if you go out to 2400. It is on sale for 300 with a bag and memory card.
I have a Nikon P900 I have gotten many very good photos from.

I want to thank everyone who stepped us and gave me an opinion. I especially want to thank the one who pointed out that Panasonic has the habit of introducing new products frequently. I looked online and there is a FZ3000 to be introduced soon, Canon is finally going to introduce a replacement for the SX 60 and Nikon is upgrading the P900, which I have and have gotten some good pictures from. I would have been very upset if I had bought the FZ2500 and found it obsolete quickly.
I intend to take my time and hopefully my next camera will be my favorite camera for at least awhile.

Thank you all.

I am strictly a point and shooter. I am not a photographer, but I take hundreds of pictures most years. I have several cameras located so I can usually get to a camera when I see something I think interests me. My two favorite cameras are a Nikon PL900 and a Panasonic FZ1000. We are taking a trip next summer and I have the itch to get a Panasonic FZ2500. I think Sony probably makes a better camera, but it is much more expensive. I would think I am probably not the only on this site with the" gotta have the newer camera" disease. I would think several of you had the itch and bought the newer camera. Was it worth it? Do you think you wasted your money?

Some of the reviews state the 2500 is difficult, the manual that comes with it is worthless. and the online manual is 300 pages. Is it so difficult that I will miss pictures on our trip because I cannot figure it out? I would appreciate your advice. As of now, both the P900 and the FZ1000 will go on the trip with us. I am 75 years old, but still farm and can handle carrying those cameras.

I have a P900 and like it a lot. I have gotten shots I would have not gotten without it. I certainly am not qualified to say it is better than the Sony, but the P900 has given me some very good pictures.
