Will rogers said "The way to make money in the stock market is to buy a good stock. Wait for it to go up in price and then sell it. If it doesn't go up, don't buy it."

Works for me.

I bought a refurbished D7100 from Adorama. The first digit in the serial number is 2 (Japan). Would that be considered grey market?

I spray the chute with a product called "Fluid Film". It is available at Lowes stores. Works great here in the Sierra Nevada where we call our snow Sierra Cement.

I agree that it is probably a Sharp-shinned or Coopers. Sharp-shinned are about 11 inches in height and Coopers are about 16 inches. Too bad there in nothing in the picture for scale. I used to live in your area. (Hereford). Great birding, and a wonderful place to live.

I shot this from my back yard in Hereford, AZ which is about 90 miles SE from Tucson. Shot with my D70 in manual mode. 30 Sec. at f/5.6. We moved to Nevada several years ago and I really do miss the monsoon.

Thank you all for viewing and your comments. I wished the storm had arrived a little earlier and provided a few clouds for the bland sky.

Fall has arrived in Hope Valley, CA. It might end tonight as a very windy storm will pass through later today.

I Don't want to ruffle any feathers, but if you learning your camera a good place to start is JPEG.. I mean if you can't correct in PP from a raw file, then your stuck with what you have. It can actually be liberating not having to pull a rabbit out of you hat ever time you take a shot. I'm getting lazy in my old age and only want to PP as little as possible, but that's just me...

Great shots! You nailed perfect exposure. Think how much more perfect it would have been if you had shot in RAW and spent ten or twenty minutes in PP

I used to live in the Eastern Sierra. It is a beautiful area most any time of year.

The fall colors will vary from year to year depending on the weather, but I would recommend early to mid October. My favorite location would be along Rock Creek Road from Toms Place to Mosquito Flats. Toms place is on US 395 24 miles north of Bishop, CA and is a great place to eat. http://www.tomsplaceresort.com/ You might give them a call to check on the status of the fall colors.

Mosquito Flats is the end of the road, and if you care to hike a mile or two up the trail you will will have some great photo-ops in Little Lakes Valley.

There are several Forest Service campgrounds along Rock Creek Road.

I used to live near Bishop in the Eastern Sierra. You are in for a treat! Be sure to visit the Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop. http://www.mountainlight.com/ You will be amazed at what the late Galen Rowell could accomplish with fairly simple equipment.
