Great images!!! On the 5th image I downloaded and enlarged the photo centering of heart of the flower. I thought it was at least as interesting as the original photo. Again a great set.

We took that cruise several years ago. IMO you do not need a tripod. The light is very good and you can adjust your shutter speed and aperture to the point that a tripod is virtually unnecessary. I was only using a 70-300mm lens. If you are taking a 500mm or 600mm lens, you may need to rethink the tripod. I don't recall the vibrations being that significant; but at 75 my memory is not that good.

Given the angle of the sun and the bird, what did you do to the picture to get the osprey to have so much color?

I left my battery in the charger and went to a photo shoot in my church and was extremely embarrassed when I realized that I could not do the shoot. It happens and there is nothing you can do about it except hopefully learn from the mistake.

I would be interested in the answers also. I asked a similar question several weeks ago. One answer was to slice up a noodle swimming aid and put it over the glass edge and then rest the lens on the noodle. What is good about that suggestion is that you can adjust the window to whatever height you want. Another was to use a seed or sand bag. IMO both are good ideas; but I like the noodle better because it is lighter and more portable.

Love the last picture. Good capture. Living in FL I see the birds in the other pictures frequently. What kind of bird has the snake?

I'm curious as to why you had the ISO so high. You could have lowered the ISO, reduced the shutter speed to 1/125 and increased aperture to the correct exposure setting. I'm learning and was wondering what your thoughts were.

First Picture: Don't know if you had more room on right. If you did I would have cropped so that the full wing+ of the bee is shown.
Third Picture: I understand your desire to get the bee; but IMO the bee is a distraction in this picture. It takes away from the beautiful flower.

Good sharp images. Keep at it.

We lived in Rome for two years in the early 1990s. Get a good map before you leave. You can walk to almost all of the sights from the Spanish Steps. (Goto Google Search and type in Sights of Rome. They hit the key sights.) After you get the map try to determine what you most want to see and then make a plan to do it. Tip: there are no street signs. The name of the street is usually on the first building on the street in blockletters. If you want to see inside St. Peter's you may need to purchase a ticket. Please check this out. Wouldn't want you to go there and find out you cannot get in. Another tip you cannot bring a tripod into St. Peter's. They consider a tripod a potential weapon at least back the they did. If you are in good health and can walk briskly you will have no problem seeing most of the key sights. You can see all of Rome in two days; but IMHO you won't really see it. Take some time before you go and determine what's important to you. Then at those few sights spend some time and really enjoy them. Hope you have a great trip and please share some of your pictures.

My wife & I took a tour from Budapest to Prague in 2013. I would recommend spending extra time in both Budapest and Prague. If time and money permit and if you have not been there, I would also include Vienna. The architecture of these three cities is absolutely incredible. In Budapest we stayed at a hotel right on the water front. I called the hotel the cruise booked us into and got a room on the top floor overlooking the river. It was worth every extra penny. I brought a tripod and took some wonderful night shoots through the hotel window. You need to darken your hotel room so that there is no reflection from the glass windows. Certainly hope you have a great time. Please share your pictures when you return.

Those are very nice images. I used my then Nikon d7000 with mine then when I got the fx D4 tried again and still did not get the crispness that you got. Maybe I need to try again. I did get a few nice images but nothing as good as these. Nice work.

Thank you. Have you seen the Tamron Tap-in tool. It allows you to check for software updates to the lens and also to adjust the focus. I have not tried to adjust the focus; but it does have that capability.

I own the G2 version and I've downloaded some images. In most cases I was at least 50 feet and two I was over 100 feet away. These photos have been cropped. I used a Nikon D750. I believe all were shot at 600mm.

After all is said and done, I will use my iPhone and an app called Geotag Photo Pro. It provides a GPX file of my locations and is imported into LR and each pictures metadata is updated with the location. Just need to figure out how to sync the time on my cell phone and the time on the app. If they are in sync then everything else works. Thanks for all of your recommendations.

I must admit that I was amazed at how many people contributed. Thank you all.

Papa J: I have a cell phone (iPhone 6+); but do not know how to sync the cell phone with my D750. How does the cell phone coordinates get into the EXIF metadata for each picture? Is there another app that I would need? I certainly would appreciate any additional information that you could provide. Since I will be out of country and probably without WiFi, will there be additional roaming charges to get the coordinates?
