What will be the reaction this time, while there's still time to read all about the mirrorless meteor on the photography sites, read about the sensors, the eye-tracking AF, the frames per second, the EVF? What would the DSLRinosaurs have done if they'd had all that lead-time to react?

The caterpillar thought it was the end of the world. But then, it was handed a Canon and became a butterfly.

SLR...I started with Canon (FTB, AE-1, A-1,T90). Was very upset when the went to auto-focus and changed lens mount unlike Nikon. Then had NikonD70s and P7700, P7800. I acquired a Minolta film camera from a friend (Maxxum)..I then acquired a Sony A850 so I could use the Minolta glass. I loved it but after time it became way too heavy for me. I now shoot Sony mirrorless and am very happy. So much for brand loyalty!

Currently my photos are automatically downloaded to "Photos" on my Mac. From there I will export to Luminar when processing. After processing, I export back to "Photos." My question is that currently my main photo library remains in the "Photos" app. I also have a "Pictures" file on the hard drive. When I scan, my photos go to that file. For those of you that use Mac, what import and/or storage system do you recommend. I also backup my photos on the iCloud and onto a remote drive.

I import from SD card to photos library, process in Luminar and or Affinity and keep in Photos Library. I backup to Time Machine. You can also copy photos library to external drive. You also can have multiple photos libraries.

DrJoeS possibly what you're not understanding is that the lion's share of commercial photographers only work under contract. Deliverables, Fees, Usage (market and duration limitations), etc are negotiated, agreed upon and accepted before any work is done. The only real issues are when the terms specified in the contract are not honored...
Only then are civil actions even considered.

Yes I've had imagery "borrowed" without my consent... So what? I could care less...
I have bills to pay thus I'm totally focused on meeting and exceeding the expectations what few client I still have have left.

What concerns me here is why would a PhD psychologist broach a query with a potential of raising paranoia and thus cortisol levels DrJoeS? While you may be entitled to claim the title of "Doctor" in an academic scenario in my humble estimation you fall just a tad short of what might be expected from a Licensed Board Certified Medical Doctor. To this end I'm simply going to address you as JoeS moving forward...

So JoeS are you aware that many across our country are now living in a society that currently is under considerable duress... Meaning the sympathetic nervous system is hyperactive... Maybe engaging your UHH audience's parasympathetic nervous system might be more germane and appropriate at this juncture... How about some serene tranquil imagery from Tampa Bay, FL.

Oh, the cornerstone of paranoid schizophrenia treatment, are antipsychotic medications which are some of the most commonly prescribed drugs. They're thought to control symptoms by affecting the brain neurotransmitter dopamine. Maybe consider reviewing dissertations on the aforementioned JoeS... Albeit in a clinical scenario I've noticed that Haloperidol (Haldol) is widely deployed...

All the best on your journey JoeS...

Finally caved in and upgraded considering the latest upgrade offer from my carrier. Pulled it out of my pocket and captured a couple momentary images on Squam Lake (NH). These are not post-processed at all. Setting was at High Efficiency that yields a small(er) file size. Has RAW capability but seems you can't get from there to a PC, just a Mac or via ICloud. Maybe not for the purists out there but overall, not bad, all factors considered.

Very nice images. I use a bridge camera (Leica V-LUX), (Panasonic ZS100) and Sony A6000.
I have absolutely no use for a smart phone (I use a flip phone for emergencies). I do not wish to be connected or bothered when I am out doing things.....yes I am old!

In the past I've been able to send pictures through email by attaching a picture file. Now when I send pictures I can only send one at a time because it sends the actual picture instead of the file that the person receiving the email. How can I set up my email to send the image# instead of the actual picture.

Possible solution...I use Nikon View NX-I (free) on my window 10 machines. If you select email, it lets you choose the size, automatically opens your email client (Thunderbird in my case) and attaches the photos.
Note...my photos are in folders PC, not in a catalogue (lightroom or others)
If you use Mac, Photos does a similar thing...lets you choose small, med, large or original.

I’m looking for a bridge camera to replace my Canon SX60, something that will not break the bank, say around $600-700+-. What I am really interested in is the noise factor because all my SX60 images are grainy, even down at 100 ISO. Do any of you have experience with what I am looking for and have suggestions that might be useful to me? I have read the reviews, but none of them mention noise or grain.

I just acquired a Leica V-LUX 114 on eBay...open box, shutter count 23 for less than $450.
Talk about a steal! It is incredibly sharp. It will replace my old Lumix FZ50 bridge camera.
It is a great compliment for my Sony mirrorless.

Transitions are nice for some outdoor activities.I bought my first pair last year. I realized my mistake on my first photo shoot with them Fortunately my regular glasses were in my car and I swapped so I could see. I keep my regular glasses with magnetic sunglass attachment in car for driving. Transitions don't work in the car (car windows block uv rays). Sometimes we learn the hard way🤪. Another lesson learned the hard way...don't buy a camera without a viewfinder.....

Beautiful shots of Beautiful animals.
We saw signs for this when we went to Sedona.
How was it?
Looks like they have many animals there.
Do you recommend it?
I love zoos
Thanks

I highly recommend it. I went with Kathleen Reeder Wildlife Photo tour. She does quite a few a year. You get to go in at dawn...way before the park opens to the general public. A great experience.

while going back and scanning old slides, many ,over the years, have the date on the photo. I found this to be a godsend in identifying the photo today. While with the digital photos, all kinds of data rides along with it, accessable with a mouse click, ...I wonder of any digital camera will ad a date to the body of the photo. (?)

I import photos using Nikon Transfer into "date shot" folders and the append subject material to folder name.
On my Mac, Photos will do the same thing.

I am a user on Nikon View NXi. I import from cards with Nikon Transfer and use my own file management system. I view my photos in NXi, can then open in PS, return to NXi. The other thing I do in NXi is email photos using Thunderbird.PS Elements only lets you use MS Outllook, which I won't use.
Now for NXStudio. I downloaded it today. It has a lot of function and can open to Photoshop or others.
However Nikon removed the email function!!!
I removed it and reinstalled View NXi

I would like to begin deleting many of my thousands of photos.
Right now I have to go to the directory, click the pic, look at it , decide if I want to keep it, then click delete or X out and then load the next pic.
I am looking for software that will load the pix and I can just click delete or save then it goes to the next pic saving lots of time and possible loading the pix in the background to make it even faster .
Does it exist if so who what where.?
Thanks

You do not need any software.
Windows: Open file explorer, select view icons, when photos in a directory are displayed. To select multiple photos, hold down CTRL key and select as many as you want, then right click and select Delete.

Om Mac it it similar. Use Photos or Finder to display photos. Hold CMD key to select multiple photos. Then right click and Delete or Move to trash

I'm using acronis having to many problem. Can anyone recommend a good image backup program.

Thanks in advance

I have been using Acronis "forever". I currently have 2010 and 2018 on different PC's and they work perfectly.
I do not use all of their "features" . I only do full backups of my system as necessary. I create a bootable CD to use for restore (in case system crashes). I must say that I am a believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Therefore I don't always update to the "latest" if what I have works fine for me.
