I hear you. I have been using Acronis since 2003, but every year is not a good year. TI2017 was a good version (I don't upgrade every year). TI2020 was a bad version (like everything else in 2020 :-( ). I have lots of problems with TI2020, and have just been getting the run-around from their technical support.

Usually, I ask for my money back within 30 days, if they don't fix the problems. But, this year, I trusted them to fix the problems and they never did (and I just continued to find more).

Try the free Synctoy utility from Microsoft. Basic, but does the job for me.

Try Macrium reflect. I switched from Acronis and have no regrets
Backups are fast and start without hesitation. Restores are so easy that in case of an issue, I restore a drive rather than try Microsoft system restore.

For on-site backup I use SyncBack. There is a free version. It can do periodic backups unattended, backup or synchronize, all controlled by user settings. For off-site (cloud) photo backup I use Amazon photo which comes with Amazon Prime.

Will this do an image backup of my boot drive?

Good software. I've been using it for years. But it does not offer an image backup.

Gene what do you mean it doesn’t do image back ups, what backs up your images

They are talking a image of your C drive or possibly all your drives. Operating software etc.

If you mean an actual image/snapshot backup of you hard drive(s) and you're running either Windows 7 or 10, then the backup utility that comes with the operating system can do image backups, and they work quite well. I use it every couple of weeks to keep mine backed up in addition to a daily backup. It does require a separate hard drive that can only be used for the image backups. Do a search for Windows Backup to get details. Simple to run and can restore the entire drive back to the status when the image was created. Not intended for incremental backups and you cannot restore an individual file from it. Just recreate the entire drive.

I tried using Acronis for some time. All it did was cause me headaches! Switched to SyncBack Pro and have never looked back.

Check out Casper. I've been using for a few years with no problem. Saved my bacon several times when hard drives went down.
