Good morning to all "Hoggers"
Looking for a personal recommendation
I am interested in buying a small, maybe 5 inch, 6 inch or 7 inch and diagonal display-control monitor which would mount on top of my DSLR or mirrorless R5 Camera...
There are so many different units out there, with so many specifications that vary, I'm at a loss for finding the right direction in which to go. Price or low price it's not an absolute necessity... The key is value for the money spent.
I would like to mounted either on my "camera frame" or my hot shoe attachment, connected via the HDMI in / out port and be able to control all of the functionality of the camera itself from the monitor...
I have done research, b, searching this form and have not been able to find any writings on the subject so, I would appreciate any feedback from individuals who are actually going through such a scenario.
My objective is to have a much better, precise and tight control of viewing my images for landscape photography, night time photography and maybe even astrophotography for Milky Way Type shots.
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated for I just don't know where to begin. I've done digital photography for almost 10 years now and this is a New Concept for me.
PS ~~ I am a Canon user / owner and I know that there are monitors out there that use either dual-battery or accommodate LP - E6 battery. My preference is to find a unit that will accommodate the Canon battery since I already have eight of them.
Thanks in advance to everyone

Probably best to here from someone that does a lot of video. At least I was until covid. For example I have an Ikan 5" monitor for my mirrorless camera's. The issue with even this budget unit it is clumsy mounted to the
top if carrying around. That said smaller then 5" is about the same as good monitor on the camera's like my Sony's. If you are using a tripod most of the time maybe a good idea. Their are a lot of cheap monitors
on Amazon buy one and try it. The really good ones are really expensive. Video people struggle with a monitor audio connection and mic and maybe a LED light if needed. With all of this it is a mess.
You can put it on an arm l like flash people do. Not great. So my suggestion is buy a cheap china one
and try it out. Then maybe go for Small HD brand. Good luck.
