Yesterday one of our members reached out for advice on getting a shutter count for their RX100 MKVII. They received some well meaning advice but as far as I've been able to ascertain, NO solution to the problem. I use Camera Shutter Count for my Nikons with no problem. But nothing but dead ends for this camera! http://tools.science.si/ , myshuttercount.com .... they don't support the RX100. Does anyone know of a definitive website where I can retrieve the shutter count for my RX100 MKVII ? Help.

I have had 3 RX100s. And currently have Mark 4. Not sure why you wan't
shutter count. To sell the camera? From the time I bought this camera on a
a lark because a major magazine said the RX100 is a great invention
these camera's have been a pleasure and productive. Recently I hadn't
used mine and the zoom froze. I googled it and it said run start and stop
and then I just gave it a pull and everything was alright.
Sorry if I wonder what you thought is. Good luck.

Yes, my intention is to sell it. And most people, myself included, would probably want the shutter count. It is a fabulous camera.

I too bought the RX100 because of New York Times review!

The only meaningful metric would be the mechanical shutter count. The electronic shutter count is meaningless.

Can the mechanical and electronic shutter count be differentiated when both values are counted.?

There is NO electronic shutter count There is no wear with an electronic shutter. Only mechanical shutters wear and have a shutter count that you can ascertain. So there is no value for the number of electronic shutter shots, none.

Cheers
