Thank you. Good to know. Could you tell me if what lens you bought with the camera? Did you bundle it or get a different lens. I am not very interested in video. Looking at the Em5Mkll. Are Olympus kit lenses good. Thanks again.

Don’t mean to spend your money, but I would urge you to get a used 12-40 2.8 pro zoom instead of a kit lens. So worth it.

I have never done focus stacking because I don't see how that would be different than just taking a single image at like an f32. Will someone please take two images and post them? One a single image like a f32 and another using focus stacking. Convince me to give focus stacking a try.

I would only suggest focus stacking if you want the best sharpness. At f32 it will not be as sharp.

We are in "a" stage, Tom … with a little bit of "b" thrown in. "C" may come in short order, or, it may be years away, or - it may NEVER come … but, Oly is NOT Panasonic - no matter how much they think they are equal in MFT product.

Okay - I understand about the picture, now ... just showing me how there is NO Rolling Shutter effect.

TBH - I'd rather see the hummigbird pics - which actually SHOW the problem - far more educational ....

Rumor mill, Tom … on the Net. Doubt if there's any truth to it - but, all I can say is this - where there are sparks, there is also fire. I suspect, Oly thought the new E-M1X would save their bacon, but it hasn't been exactly selling like hotcakes … not like the E-M10 III - which is a much sounder proposition, as it's so affordable - in comparison. But that model is a giveaway, and if they only sold THAT - I'm sure they couldn't recoup the losses from the R&D which went into it. Losses tend to follow down the food chain, Tom … the E-M1X cost them a whole lot to design and manufacture - they're losing their shirt on it.

Nice pic, Tom … is this supposed to be an example of the Rolling Shutter problem, or no? If so where's it?

There are no sparks, and there is no fire Chris. The em1x is a camera, designed for professional shooters, like the D5 or the 1DxII were. Neither one was produced to ‘save’ the company, in fact, I’m going to say that both companies knew that neaither camera was going to sell like hot cakes. All 3 camera are catering to a niche market.

While you haven’t mentioned your source for the sold numbers so far, all I can tell you is that I’m very surprised how many non professionals have purchased this camera, based on the em1x FB group.

The picture I posted is to show you, that you can use the electronic shutter at 65mph without ay rolling shutter issue. I have also posted other birds in flight photos for you where there is no rolling shutter issue with moving subjects. You will most likely see it though if you shoot hummingbirds. But not every shot. But some.

Pretty sure the E-M1 II suffers from the Rolling Shutter effect, Tom. The E-M1X is another matter, entirely. If it has the same problem, it may explain why Olympus may be pulling out. If it doesn't - there'd be a mad scramble to grab these things - even at $3-4G a pop. But, I don't see that happening. So, I suspect - it has the same problem, even USING Pro Capture mode. If so, Olympus, rather than investing more in R&D, is likely to hang its hat on the proverbial stake, which has taken with it, prior, the likes of Minolta, and Chinon.

Btw, Olympus is NOT pulling out. The em5 mark3 will be announced soon.

Where did you get the idea? If you were a member of the em1x FB group, you would see a lot of new owners. Selling better than I thought. Yes, the em1 mark2 suffers from rolling shutter, but I don’t think you understand how rare that is. Like I mentioned before, if you are shooting humming birds, you will see it. Or if you are taking photos as a passenger from a car, going 65mph, IF you include the foreground, you’ll see the fence leaning. Most of the time, it is not an issue. All I use is the electronic shutter.

Here is an example from today. I was the passenger, car was going speed limit.

Please read what I said. The pro capture feature records 60fps.

No, this is not correct. The A9 is faster at exposing the shutter and reading the results. But it is still doing the same thing, and is still subject to rolling shutter. The difference being that the subject has to move faster to produce rolling shutter.

I expect Sony to continue improving this method.

Neither one of us have an EM1 mark2 or EM1x, but as far as I can see from photos, with the pro capture, at 60FPS, there is no rolling shutter.

So, you found it, huh, Bipod? … Yes, not only does Thailand produce practically all Nikon Bodies, AND some of its lenses, but Sony also produces their bodies, there, too - but their main lenses - in Japan.

My wife is Thai. She seems to have come from a very affluent society, and family. She was always very well dressed, and seemed to have all the money she would ever need. It's a very-well preserved country.
All power to it, that it never ever came under the thumb of any foreign regime, unlike all of the countries which surround it - Burma (Britain) Viet-Nam (France) Laos (France) Cambodia (the US) Singapore (UK).

What was most interesting to me was to find all Tokina lenses, along with all Sigma lenses, are made in Japan. But, so few of the OEM lenses were. And, then, Tamron lenses, are mostly all made in China!!!

More noise from you. Of course you post untruths. You do it all the time. Do you forget what you write? Try ginkgo biloba.

Lastly, you sure waste my time with your long mumbling.

Post a photo, show us that you actually take photographs. Without it, all you are is a cut and paste armchair expert.

See how easy it is? This is how you prove that you actually take photos.

But I know that the best you can do is hide behind your keyboard. That is your specialty
