Some idiot throws a lit cigarette out his window whilst driving thru the woods, on a hot, sunny day - and what have you got? … A forest fire!!!! … Someone says, on the Net - Oly is finished, and is picking up its chips, and giving up the game - and what have you got? … a) a mad rush to buy what's left b) a bunch of naysayers who "saw" into the future .. and then say - we saw it coming c) a factual admission by a company - they can no longer support their products, and are declaring bankruptcy. We are in "a" stage, Tom … with a little bit of "b" thrown in. "C" may come in short order, or, it may be years away, or - it may NEVER come … but, Oly is NOT Panasonic - no matter how much they think they are equal in MFT product.

Rumor mill, Tom … on the Net. Doubt if there's any truth to it - but, all I can say is this - where there are sparks, there is also fire. I suspect, Oly thought the new E-M1X would save their bacon, but it hasn't been exactly selling like hotcakes … not like the E-M10 III - which is a much sounder proposition, as it's so affordable - in comparison. But that model is a giveaway, and if they only sold THAT - I'm sure they couldn't recoup the losses from the R&D which went into it. Losses tend to follow down the food chain, Tom … the E-M1X cost them a whole lot to design and manufacture - they're losing their shirt on it.

Pretty sure the E-M1 II suffers from the Rolling Shutter effect, Tom. The E-M1X is another matter, entirely. If it has the same problem, it may explain why Olympus may be pulling out. If it doesn't - there'd be a mad scramble to grab these things - even at $3-4G a pop. But, I don't see that happening. So, I suspect - it has the same problem, even USING Pro Capture mode. If so, Olympus, rather than investing more in R&D, is likely to hang its hat on the proverbial stake, which has taken with it, prior, the likes of Minolta, and Chinon.

So, you found it, huh, Bipod? … Yes, not only does Thailand produce practically all Nikon Bodies, AND some of its lenses, but Sony also produces their bodies, there, too - but their main lenses - in Japan.

My wife is Thai. She seems to have come from a very affluent society, and family. She was always very well dressed, and seemed to have all the money she would ever need. It's a very-well preserved country.

What was most interesting to me was to find all Tokina lenses, along with all Sigma lenses, are made in Japan. But, so few of the OEM lenses were. And, then, Tamron lenses, are mostly all made in China!!!
