The posing is good but have to agree that the background is very busy. What lens were you using? He looks distorted in the third image. A 50 or 85mm lens is your best bet for portraiture and I tend to have at least a ten foot distance from camera to subject to get a full body image sharp. But if your just going for the face to be sharp it's ok to be closer. Where was your focus point used? It should've been on his eyes and then the frame recomposed, cause his eyes are a bit soft. Color is good and contrast is good

I had a newly shared folder disappear and looked into the function where you can see who viewd and downloaded your folder last. Sometimes people you share with actually move the folder on you rather than copying it. You can use the recover feature in Dropbox to get it back but there's no protection against this happening.

I just whisked off my firstborn to college this year. Both my sons run three seasons. Kudos to yours for earning their letter each year! My sophomore is running cc now and I love to shoot the sport. It takes some ingenuity to get good composition that isn't boring. I run back and forth while other parents stay at the start/finish line! Great series you have here.

I own the 6D and use it for sports. It doesn't have the fast burst rate like the 7D ii, so you have to shoot carefully and tweek your subsequent images within a burst in the custom function menu. I do miss the extra reach with my 70-200 since the 6D is FF. I've read the reviewsn the new 7Dii and it has improved low light capability with several point AF now. I'd go with the latter since you shoot fast action.

Very nice! How did you make your DIY ice light? I dream of owning one but not at its present price.

I shoot sports and sometimes have too many spectators in the background that's bokeh is not pleasing. I have LR5 and use an inverted radial filter mask to darken the background.

Beautiful series! I grew up on the Shawangunk Mtns and know Mohonk well. The restaurant is pricey but a lovely getaway weekend spot. Try and get back up there when the foliage turns...it's spectacular color!

Nice series. I especially like the last image. I photograph high school cc and track and love capturing the shots as they round the bend.

Most printers accept sRGB color space and I export my raws to 100% quality JPEG with 300 ppi. I print 4x6s for my family albums (which is 3:2 ratio when cropping). When I want to print a 5x7 or larger, I specifically crop to that size so there's nothing chopped off the sides when it's printed.

Just love the circular flair and orbs! The horizon is pretty much at the first 3rds line and the person in the photo lends nicely to give the image proper scale. Even though it's soft, the whole mood feels calm and serene. I'd put this on canvas. Very nice.

Love the tonal range here. I like where the subject lies but do agree there is too much debri in foreground. Clone some out and dodge and burn a bit and you'll be set.

I've always printed the 4x6s for albums and then came digital! I continue to have the 4x6s printed and now have some images printed on photo boards from Photo Barn. I've calibrated my monitor to samples from my local professional printer. It's more expensive, but it works for me.

I also have a collage on the stairwell landing where I've got frames matted to 4x6 and the frames have turn pennies on the back so I can switch out photos on a monthly basis.

I have the newest version of LR and PSE 11. I honestly use LR for 98% of my workflow. I batch edit in a pinch and the cloning function in spot removal negates the need for me to bring images into PSE.

I wasn't even drawn to the stripes as much as to his awesome cheekbones!
