I'm not new to this site but haven't been use it for a long while. I want to get back to it for the same reasons most people use it. It's great to communicate with others that have the same interest. However, I'll be leaving for Australia and New Zealand this friday and hope to post some of my photos when I get back.
Don't know why I didn't use it for a long while.....Oh yeah, there was a lot of bickering going on.....but now seems to be over. I love this site and will use it often when I get back.

I've done a couple with Picasa and it's easy and flexible. Here's a sample I took New Year's Eve.

Wow!!!! You guys and gals are really great! You've all made me more knowledgeable just buy reading all of your comments!! I really appreciate that! So I'll go ahead an install it....but one final question. I understand that LR4 has something to do with a "preference box" that can separate RAW files to a different area then the JPG or Tiff files. Has anyone done this?

I've purchased LR4 also but afraid to install it until I get some knowledge about how to organize the files, which I believe is a big reason for getting LR4. Isn't it???? Looking for documentation for it now. Any suggestions? All I got was the Cd.

Just so you know.
Last week I made a post in this forum. It was ...Just thought I'd ask, "where's a good place to purchase camera and lens insurance."

Last night I was at a meeting of my camera club and we had a guess speaker showing individuals what to consider when shooting Macro. Most of the small group had our camera's on tripods and I did too. But for just about 30-45 seconds I turned to a table to retrieve a flower that I brought and looked back only to see my equipment on the floor. No one said they saw it fall. The legs of the tripod were all locked in place so it wasn't a case of one of the legs folding. So now i have a broken lens and a mark on my camera. Thank God the camera still works. Insurance advice please!

Just so you know I sent my $550. lens to Tamron Lens for repair and it's going to cost about $250 to about $325 including shipping overnight express to have it this fixed. Home owners insuranace is going to provide insurance for about $20/year for two lenses.
And thank you for this forum for mentioning Homeowners insurance.

Hi Nikon DonB. I havent been to Chicago since 1952 when I was in machinest mate school in Greatlakes Navel base. What a great liberty town. Never had to pay for anything. The USO gave us free passes for the shows and the ballgames. After that went to Portsmith, My ship was there in drydock. What a defferance. They hated sailores there.

Does that beat "it's a cats meow"?

Good point! Didn't think of that, especially since I planning to go to Australia next year.

Thanks MR Stooter. I thought of it just after I wrote it, but figured there might be other options.

So as a follow-up question. If I want to delete a program and add a different kind of program, I can delete a program without losing any pictures?

I'm a newbie but just for the fun of it.
The Nikon guy said it "HOLD THE PRESS.... There has been a recount, and we in the Poster Account Department wish to express our concern pertaining to the latest voted findings...
While it represents only a figure of 1, we wish to upgrade the last vote taking..
CONCLUSION: Nikon 31........ Canon 0....."

He almost had it right, it's Nikon 31.....Canon Won!!!!
