Does anyone have experience with both these products?
I use Elements 9 but have considered changing to Lightroom 3.
Any thoughts on this matter.

I had (and still have) Elements 9, but purchased LR3 several months ago. I like LR3 better for importing and managing the collection (about 30k images) and probably do 80% of my pp in LR3 as well. I keep Elements 9 for the layers and masking and more difficult/complex/artsy work (which for a right brainer like me is almost impossible....or is it a left brainer...I never remember). Hope this helps.

Hello JoeM: I have both LR3 and Elements 10: I am still trying to learn to use both. I find Elements 10 easir to use as a novice. How ever when it comes to post processing a large volume of photos LR 3 handles them in batch files. Say you under expose 50 photos and you need to correct them, in light room 3 You can correct them all at the same time. I down loaded a HDR plug in for LR 3 and enjoy playing with it there. I'm still trying to figure out their filing system set up, I like my own system better. Easier for me to understand. Actually the two programs work hand in hand. Hope this helps.

I have experience with both and would say it really depends on what you want to do. Post processing, such as adjusting exposure, changing to black and white or any number of other presets and picking and cataloging photos is much easier in Lightroom. If you are more inclined to doing digital "trickery" such as removing electrical lines from a photo or switching heads between your Aunt Bertha and her pet Chiwawa... then photoshop is the way to go.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I will consider all and let you know if the cost is worth the software for me. :)

Lightroom 4 is on the way.. I bought Lightroom 3 from Amazon yesterday for $89.00, this morning it is listed at $129.00. Go figure that one. Now I am looking for a deal on CS5

I use both for the same reasons mentioned by other above. LR for management and most edits (probably 99%) and PSE for more detailed editing.
