Hi,

I have been told that there are no dumb questions when one is learning. That being so, I would like to know if the memory card has any bearing on the quality of my pictures that are stored on it. Are any memory cards better than others?? Trying to consider everything!!

Thanks for any help. Mary.

Hi,

I am newly retired and I traded my Canon film system cameras for a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 with a tele-adapter. At the time I based my choice on the "Leica" branded lens with absolutely NO idea of what sensor size meant to image quality. I now plan to produce "prints for sale" of panoramic scenic photos, scenic photos, and nature photos as I may find on my outings. How do I maximize my image quality while on a tight budget? Is there any direction that will gain more image quality .. DSLR vs 4/3 or maybe some other hardware format?

Hi there, If I have PS Elements 9, is it necessary to upgrade to CS5? What kind of features can I find on CS5 that I cannot do in Elements? I am a budding new professional, so I want to grow my business but I seriously do not know if this is a move I need to spend money on or not. Also, not sure what lightroom is all about, what kind of benefits would it have for me? Thanks!

Hi,

I'm going to be purchasing a new lens for my olympus pen. However I am fairly new to photography in general and am not familiar with the differences in lenses, which one's will work with my camera, and which ones are good for my perferred medium. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
Ian

Hi,

I used to have a SNAPPY which stilled the movie frames for a still shot of
my fish tank fish. How can I get one of those for my digital movie camera?

Sincerely; Lady Jane

Hi
I want to take good pictures of kids clothing. Most items are all white. My camera is a samsung digital camera 4MP. It seems no matter where (inside or outside) or how I take pictures they never come out correctly. maybe one out of 10-12 pictures one might come out decent, but never really nice. They are blurry, discolored or have bright white spots in them. What am I doing wrong or what should I be doing different?

Thanks
Shann

Hi,

I've taken numerous classes from my local community college and a couple at University--all using the Dark Room to print. I have a Nikon D90 now and am a little lost as my old Nikon FE allowed me to do multiple exposures on 1 frame and other in-camera moves with filters, etc. I have an old Spot Meter, but haven't used it yet. I would love to learn the in's and out's on my new digital camera.

Thanks.

Hi, hopefully you can help me decide on a new camera.

I am a amature photographer and have had a Pentax Spotmatic for years. I love its ease of use, the exposure meter is extremely easy to use, you just manual focus & decide on the shutter speed versus lens aperture opening.

But I'm going digital and still want to use a SLR to maintain some control over the shots, but my wife will also be using it and is totally turned off by cameras with too many options, too many choices & will most likely use only the auto feature that sets focus & exposure for you.

But we had a a small digital point & shoot that took decent photos for her but was very slow to snap the photo once you depressed the shutter release & her only 2 requests for the new camera, that it was easy for her to operate & that it had a fast shutter response.

We have been comparing the Panasonic Lumix LX5, The Panasonic ZS10, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i, the Canon Powershot S95, the Canon EOS 60D, the Nikon D5100 and a ton of others with the Panasonic Lumix LX5 & the Canon Rebel T2i the front runners. What I'd really like is a digital version of the Pentax Spotmatic, it was so simple & easy to operate & produced great photos without being complicated.

Also do digital full frame format cameras produce significantly better photos then the digital cameras with APS-C format, or is the difference only noticable if you are a professional photographer?

Thanks for any help /advice you can offer.

Pondering the jump from film to digital. I have a lot of Minolta gear and I can't make up my mind whether to switch to Nikon or Canon or go with Sony and use the existing Maxxum AF Lenses. I could stay with the Minolta set-up and start over with a new brand DSLR. The following list of lenses I currently have are making this decision difficult. There is some good quality glass on this list.

50mm f1.4 Minolta AF
50mm f1.7 Minolta AF
85mm f1.4 Minolta AF Portrait
90mm f2.8 Tamron SP AF Macro
135mm f2.8 Minolta AF
21-35 f3.5-4.2 Sigma AF
28-85 f3.5-4.5 Minolta AF Macro
28-105 f2.8 Tamron SP LD XR AF
28-200 f3.8-5.6 Tamron XR AF
28-300 f3.5-6.3 Tamron XR AF
70-300 f4 Minolta Beercan AF

Help me out here. Loyde.

Hi,

I have just purchased a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Lens for Canon Digital Camera, to put on my 7D - wonder if anyone out there has any tricks they have learned with this lens, I need to get up to speed with it quickly, getting married in 2 weeks and will need to hand it off to a friend to take the pictures. I doubt if there is anything too tricky, just thought I would use this new resource from Ugly....thanks for any tips you can give me!

Mike
