Saw Rocky “Roco Socco Colavito at Yankee Stadium many years ago playing right field throw out a Yankee runner on the fly trying to advance to third on a sac fly. What an arm

Ichiro Suzuki repeatedly did the same thing for the Seattle Mariners ... and hit a career average of ~.325.

Beautiful lens. Wouldn't it be smarter to get an adapter and use it on your Z9?

That would be called a "perfect game" - 27 strikeouts. Impossible these days.

That looks more like a snake than an eel, but I'm no fishologist.

Great shot.

Epson V600 scanner.

End of discussion. Epson's the best for the money.

You need a step-up filter ring from 88mm to 92mm or a combo of two that will do the same. Then you can get the 92mm CPL filter.

Many thanks, ecobin. I actually have a 95mm filter which I briefly used on a 500mm tele that was just too heavy for me. I'll visit Kenmore photo and see if they can help me.

I've got an old but beautiful 500mm Nikkor Reflex (mirror) lens, which is a lot of fun to use on my D850 (esp. because it's so much lighter than a refracting one). It would be perfect with a polarizing filter but I can't find one anywhere. (I've seen 87 and 92 MM filters available, but not 88). Can anyone help?

The Eye of a Photographer 👁️

"... Photographers have mastered how to use the rules of composition and know when to break them. ..."

Is a "Photographer" anyone with a camera (incl. smart phones)? Then, is photography necessarily an art form? Of course not, and the proof of that is in the millions of snaps/pix/shots produced everyday portraying whatever the photog finds to be pretty, cute, gorgeous, quirky, etc.

A camera is a tool, just like a painter's palette and brush. One doesn't "take" or "capture" a picture, an artist MAKES the picture. Skill at using one's tools is important, but composition is the key.

It will work fine. Actually, it will produce better corner photo quality (FX lens produces a larger image spot on the D7500 sensor). Shop around, the price should be less than $1,400! BTW, I bought a "used" one through MPB (Brooklyn, NY) and it was in like-new condition.

Marquina may have bought mine. I sold mine (mint condition) to MPB for $850, they offered it for $1100. Be aware, it is heavy, which was the only reason I sold it. Great lens for the price.

I bought a D850 this past September and love it. I finally acquired the holy trinity of lenses after switching from a cropped sensor camera...

Your 46 MP of resolution (at least 50% more than any mirrorless) is reason enough to avoid switching.

That thing would fit perfectly in a "Star Wars" movie.

I feel your pain. But, since you decided to do the work to remove the wires, doncha think that removing the empty telephone pole would also be a good idea?

Nice shot - no reason to have shot at f/22 since your dof is infinite at wide open at that distance. F5.6 would have been my choice and resulted in much less noise (lower ISO) and fewer artifacts.

Totally agree. I can't recall EVER shooting at f/22.

[quote=EdJ0307]Another way to watch ABC without cable or YT TV is with an over-the-air antenna, which is what I use. But as I mentioned I can't record The Rookie for later viewing. ...

I live just a few miles from Seattle's over-the-air transmitters so my in-house antenna gets maybe 20 channels. (If you go the antenna route, get an amplified one, NOT an unpowered flat panel you glue to a window.) Obviously not a solution for those living in the boondocks. My "smart" TV also gets N'flix, HBO Max (with my AT&T phone subscription) Amazon Prime video and the no-ad version of YouTube (but not YT TV). Can't think of anything I'm missing except the shopping networks.

As far as recording goes, I still have three high quality VCRs which will do the job very satisfactorily.
