It might have a lot of pixels but the colour is totally over the top. Dreadful!! Is the camera responsible or the photographer?

Give me my Canons and respect for realism every time.

At a guess to fit the Fuji Removable Tripod Socket. My Tamron 150-600 G2 lens has similar mounting studs.

Gosh. I just viewed the link from the UK and I certainly don't have an account!

I'm sure you know that modern cars are loaded with electronics that keep track of everything. I watched a video last night from a car shop that's working on a 2024 Mustang. Cars never have enough power. 😊 What he said is scary.

Basically, new cars spy on you and report back to the manufacturer. Imagine an invisible passenger riding with you all the time. But it's worse than that. It also knows everything that's on your phone, provided the phone has been paired with the car. It has all your contacts' numbers, and it can read your texts and emails even if you haven't read them yet. Basically, it knows as much as your phone knows. Did all your passengers click their seat belts? You may not know, but your car and the manufacturer know.

How about your driving? Are you weaving too much? If so, you're either tired or drunk. An alarm will sound, and it won't stop until you pull off the road and stop the car. Naturally, the manufacturer knows about this. Want to see if your car can do 100? Nope! It's limited to 80 MPH. There are circumstances in which you can go faster, but that is decided by the car. The car's camera can read! Some passengers in your car may not be able to read speed limit signs, but the car can. It knows when you are speeding, and so does the manufacturer.

As I said above, this pertains specifically to the 2024 Mustang, but the narrator said it's more or less universal. The owner's manual contains 551 pages, and most of this is spelled out in the manual. The manual also says that Ford will give information to "authorities" that request it. It also says - as all agreements do - that the agreement can change at any time.

Jerry not all is bad about this technology. I attach a link to a story where this telematics information helped to bring a murderer to court in Wales, UK. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-51466273

My car has this tech. One of the benefits is that should I have a serious accident my car will immediately send a report to the police with my precise GPS co-ordinates. Sadly, again in Wales, 4 teenage lads died last weekend when their car went off the road in atrocious weather conditions landing upside down partly submerged in water. They were not found until two days later when they were already dead. Had they been in a more modern higher tech car perhaps the outcome might have been different.

I guess that, unless we have something to hide, the benefits of the tech can outweigh any reservations based on privacy.

If it amuses you please sit at home asking AI to create images for you. But please do not call it photography and do not pretend that you have captured/created that image. Personally I cannot imagine getting any satisfaction from this. What a waste of the 50+ years I have spent learning my craft.

Definitely clean shaven. Can't even come down to breakfast until I've fully shaved. Just don't feel clean until then.

I had a moustache once when I was young. Probably made me feel butch then, but once I'd had it and a streaming cold it felt so unhygienic.

Just my thoughts, but you did ask Jerry.

Fabulous shot. Amazing what you can do with a 17mm lens.

Very nice for Canon. Should make great competition against the Nikon 180-600 5.6-6.3. Interesting in the fact that the Nikon and Sony 200-600 have an internal zoom and the Canon lens extends as it zooms. Wonder what the balance would be on the Canon once it is fully extended. And at 800 f9 you better have a lot of light.
But again, love the competition among the big three.
And with Nikon's 600 6.3 and 800 6.3 primes, you won't necessarily break the bank buying a long prime. Does Canon have any competition here with these two less expensive primes? No? Oh, that's right, Canon does have a 800 prime at f11 compared to 6.3 for the Nikon. But in honesty the Nikon is 6 times the cost of the Canon, $999.00 compared to nearly $6500.00 for the Nikon. Which makes the Canon a bargain for the price, and nice sharpness too. You have to wait till noon to shoot it outside though, but still, nice product for the price.
At this point, I will continue to use my Sony 200-600 and 600 f4 for my wildlife shooting.
Again, that Canon has a really close focusing distance of 2.6', you could call that a mega macro. Way to go Canon, hope you catch up to Sony and Nikon at some point.
PS. it also appears on the Canon that you have a full 1/2 turn of the zoom collar to go from 200-800, on the Nikon and Sony it is a 1/4 turn, that could be a problem with hand holding and trying to go from 200-800 all the while trying to keep on a moving subject. Oh well, looks like a fine lens anyway and should be a

So an un-sharp photo is fine?
WOW, better start saving and posting those that are fuzzy and let you praise their great composition.

You want REALISTIC sharpness. Far too many photos spoilt by over-sharpening. Similarly over-saturation.

We do seem to have a number of Hoggers living in the past. Modern cars have Stop Start mainly for environmental reasons. To stop parents idling outside schools and causing pollution that damages their young children's lungs etc. And, of course, all other unnecessary idling. As soon as you release the brake the engine instantly starts. Any load on the battery is nominal and very short term. Modern starters, clutches etc. are so superior to those we remember from our early driving experience. We all need to do EVERYTHING possible to reduce pollution. Let's concentrate on that rather than saving a few pence (cents).

If you want to voluntarily allow police to search your car when they didn't have probable cause, that's fine. I don't want them to search mine, and they won't catch a bad guy if they do.

I've got nothing to hide in my car. What illegal or embarrassing items do you carry? What reason might the police have to stop you in the first place?
