I carried a Canon GX5 to France two years ago. Decent zoom and takes Raw. Got some good pics. This is an older model, I think latest model may be the GX9.

I have been watching a Youtube video by a photographer, JCristina who claims that Adobe is making major changes in it's Creative Cloud offering. Namely a doubling of the subscription price to $21 for an individual. Also they will no longer support standalone versions beyond the last two for LR and PS. The most alarming statement he makes is that if you are using an older version you must delete them or you will be in violation of copyright laws and could be prosecuted. It seems to me that if you buy software (not a subscription) then you are the owner. I would be interested to hear what others know about this rumor. I can find nothing on Adobe's website to support this.

I have a Cayer AF34DV Monopod. Aluminum but fairly heavy. Has feet and 3 sections. Comes with a tilt head and a special camera plate (not Arca Swiss) that adds to the sturdiness. Tried a lighter weight monopod with a ball head. Bad choice.

There are several members of the two photo clubs where I am also a member, who I consider gifted amateurs that watermark their photos. These are folks who may sell one piece in a blue moon and my get paid for shooting a friends wedding. They watermark to prevent someone using their photos without permission when they are posted on social media. At that skill level and photography not being a business I consider this an unnecessary affectation. Your thoughts?

I have 4 Yongnuo speedlights plus 2 Yongnuo controllers all work great and very inexpensive. I think I paid 89.00 for 3 and 98.00 for the TTL model. The radio controllers were 50.00. I use with D750

I have been using the Yongnuo speedlights for the past two years (I have four) and find them to be both powerful and inexpensive. Less than $100 for most either manual or TTL. I do not find them overly heavy but do not know how they may feel on a Z6. I use on a D750 and light stands. Yongnuo also has a radio controller that works well with their lights and once again inexpensive ($50.00 I think).

It's probably worth it when you have 3rd party lenses, but if you have OEM lenses then I've never found it necessary to calibrate. They've been spot on. I have read that a lot of people find the Tamron and other 3rd party lenses to be off a little and that they front focus quite a lot.

I have the following:
Nikon 20mm 1.8
" 50MM 1.8
" 60 mm 2.8 Micro
" 70-300 4.5-6.3
" 24-120mm 4
Tamron 85mm 1.8
" 70-200 2.8
" 100-400 4.5-6.3
Your recommendation is to check the Tamrons and skip the Nikons?

How important is it? What is the best method? DIY or camera shop? Is it worthwhile to calibrate a zoom lens? If so what focal lengths? Example: Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2

I would love to find a good program to create fairly sophisticated slide shows with music. That being said, I would love for it to be fairly simple to use! I am really asking for a lot, I know. Any suggestions?

Faststone Image Viewer is a good free slideshow creator software. I have used it many times with good results. Have not used the music function but it is there. For free is worth a try.

I took the card out of my camera and put it in the memory card reader. Some photo came over but most were represent by a grey tile icon with and I with a circle. I took the card out of the reader and put the card back in my camera to see what photos were showing... Camera notice "cannot read card must format"????

I was able to view some of the pics on my computer but when I went back in nothing. Have I lost all photos?

There is a free (I think) program from Lexar called "Image Rescue" that works well on SD cards, Hard Drives, Etc.

I would strongly recommend the PS/LR cloud at $10.00 month. If you start with one of the free programs you will probably switch to Lightroom at some point. If you have to experience a learning curve you may as well start with the one you will use for life. The organizational features of Lightroom alone are worth the $10/Month. I edit exclusively in Lightroom, switching to Photoshop (easy transitional in LR) for edits not available in LR, removing of unwanted items(power lines) and layers, etc. Faststone Image Viewer is good program for creating presentations (slide shows) and has some basic editing functions and is free.
