I would love to find a good program to create fairly sophisticated slide shows with music. That being said, I would love for it to be fairly simple to use! I am really asking for a lot, I know. Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention, I use LR and PS but think there may be better ones out there for this.

I have used it but can’t seem to get it to let me do any music edits. Just select a song to play. Am I missing something?

You would need to do the music editing on a seperate program. No clue on which one.

This is what I use - beginner and advanced friendly but it is Mac only as far as I can tell. https://boinx.com/fotomagico/

ProShow Gold is the (well!) gold standard for most that want slideshows. I don't use it.

Instead, I use Premiere Elements. Like other video editing software it works well with stills and has A LOT of audio options.

A unique part of Premiere Elements is that it will use RAWs edited in Lightroom if you've set Lightroom to keep the edits in XMP files. You can make 4K output for the newer TVs.

I've used Lightroom, Power Point and other apps, and none offer the short learning curve, ease of use and built in palette of transitions that Pro Show Producer.

I did this within 30 minutes of starting the package for the first time:

I agree with the others who recommend ProShow Gold. An excellent, easy to use program.

This is the opinion of a former multi-image producer who used 2 to 15 slide projectors to tell stories at sales meetings, workshops, and training events.

iMovie, oddly enough, is my first pick on the Mac.

Mac or Windows, any video editor that can import stills and do the “Ken Burns” pan and zoom effects, set precise timing, add titles and effects, include video clips, edit audio, add audio tracks, and adjust sound and picture quality... is a great choice.

I can usually tell when a show is done with one of the ProShow tools. People tend to over-use effects at the expense of storytelling. If you use ProShow, please exercise restraint. Don’t let the medium get in the way of the message.

I have used Pinnacle Studio and found it to be pretty easy.
