I've used iMovie and Pro-show Gold and a couple of others. I'd select iMovie as the easiest and still versatile software. It's hard to ignore Pro-show Gold though. Both are excellent.

I just had to create a slideshow for my son-in-law's dad's funeral. I found Movavi video suite 18 had all the tools I needed. It was very intuitive and easy to create. I found the following link with a big discount:

https://www.dealarious.com/coupon/movavi-video-suite/ for $36.00

See all the components of it here that are included for that $36.00!

The part I really liked is that it lets you create the slideshow in different formats and burns to DVD or create in a format to run on your computer. You just need to understand the formats available for your desired output.

I would love to find a good program to create fairly sophisticated slide shows with music. That being said, I would love for it to be fairly simple to use! I am really asking for a lot, I know. Any suggestions?

I use power point with music, voice and many other great features. It is relatively simple to use yet produces powerful presentations.
I am sure there are tones of other programs but this one is easy to use yet powerful.

I've used Lightroom, Power Point and other apps, and none offer the short learning curve, ease of use and built in palette of transitions that Pro Show Producer.

I did this within 30 minutes of starting the package for the first time:

Wow! Nice.

It may take only 30 min to learn to use the tool. But it takes a lifetime to develop the talent to produce that show.

I have used Pro Show Gold and found it very easy to use and apply music , you have the ability to sync the music to the length of the show or use multiple scores to coincide with the images. Pretty g ood selection of wipes or transitions, low learning curve. I think it was around $70.00

Go to photodex.com and check out their Pro Show program. It’s excellent, does everything you ask and is very easy to use. They have multiple free video tutorials and a free trial version. I’d recommend starting with Pro Show Gold, about $80 versus the more expensive Producer which is more for commercial use. The program comes with tons of free music and the audio interface is really easy to figure out.

You can also use your own music tracks in a show.

ProShow Gold is a great program. I’ve used it several times to make interesting slideshows. To see a trial of what it is capable of doing google ProShow Gold. The program contains many fine pieces of music of various lengths, sound effects, voice over narration capability, many transitions and works with Lightroom. For the price of $70 it’s worth the money.

Thanks! But I am not that good. The software makes me look better though.
