Why is it that so many crazy news stories start with "Florida man...."?

Aside from equestrian events, the occasional bird and the more occasional landscape, studio is pretty much what I do. It's difficult for me to get out and about for various reasons. I'm lucky to have a small space that I can leave permanently set up for my studio shoots. All small scale - nothing expansive at all, but it makes me some walking around money every month!
Thanks for the replies. Yes, the pearls are not sharp enough. In regards to the negative space lower right, that's the stock photographer in me coming out! "Always leave room for copy space". I guess it's kind of drilled in.
So, if I were to add another object - say a flower - should it be fresh or would a wilted flower be better?
Definitely going to reshoot this.
Wanted to shoot a wedding theme. I wanted the detail of my grandmother's wedding dress (circa late 1920's). On a whim, I included my other grandmother's wedding pearls. Applied some filters to bring out the texture and punch up the old vibe. The pearls aren't quite as sharp as I'd like, but other than that, I'd like to know what people think of these two.
I've never turned off my IS on the lens, but I do turn off the camera. I try to at least tilt the camera down to change the lens and I try to avoid changing the lens outside. I'm a Nikonian, so I'm not sure if turning off the IS is recommended or not. Will have to research this, as it seems from this conversation that this could be a Canon thing.
I am familiar with this place via the works of another photographer. Awesome looking place, but I'd be scared of snakes!
***gasp*** Absolutely beautiful!
