Old Car City in White, Georgia is a junk yard featuring 30+ acres, 6+ miles of trails, and 4000ish vehicles from the 1970s going back to the 1920s.

The 35L is a popular prime lens for photojournalism, street photography and weddings. The focal length does not distort as much as other wider offerings. The large aperture is good for dim light, and the low distortion is good for group portraits.

Old Car City is definitely a place of memories where you might find a car a younger you, your dad, or your grandmother once drove.

Many of the cars are mossy or half-buried in pine needles and leaf litter. Some have been lifted into the air by the trees that grew beneath them. Others have roots and branches erupting out of engine compartments, trunks, and radiator grills.

Ektar started as a color 35mm semi-professional film introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1989, which used the common C-41 process. Poor market segmentation between various formats influenced Kodak's decision to discontinue Ektar in 1994. The film was replaced by the Royal Gold line. Prior to its use on films, the Ektar name originally referred to Eastman Kodak's premium-priced lenses for professional use, introduced in 1936 and sold until the 1960s. The name Ektar is an acronym for Eastman Kodak TessAR. A new film was introduced in September 2008 under the name Kodak EKTAR 100, which claims to be the finest-grain color negative film available on the market, featuring high saturation and vivid colors.

Thank you Perry! I've been to OCC now for 4-full days of shooting. I'd be more concerned of ticks than snakes.

Thank you Jerry, Longshadow, Bob, Vince, Ken, SeamusMac! The weather for the date of these images was the first time I've been there that didn't included the golden Fall sunshine of north Georgia. I haven't researched the makes and models of individual vehicles, so I'll defer those types of questions to the more knowledgeable. Many of the iconic wrecks and the popular images come from very near the entrance. During my two 2018 visits, I tried to walk to the edges of the property before shooting anything and then working back to the entrance over the course of the day.

Paul, I really enjoyed looking at these photos and also felt very sad that they are going to rust rather than being restored. Your use of film is very interesting and I love it. A great set of color and detail.
