Great shots. Can someone tell me why one of the occupants is facing aft?

If you go to this or any other forum and you get two or more differing solutions to a problem there are the following possibilities: all are right; all are wrong; one is right and the others are all wrong. By asking the question you admit you don't know therefore you cannot evaluate the answers. At that point disregard all advice. If it's under warranty call manufacturers tech support, call the store you bought it from B&H has proved helpful to me on several occasions, if it is new return it for replacement--NOT REPAIR.

As you get more experienced with your equipment UHH can be a great information source. There are experts on this site who can help with just about anything photographic. As you spend more time on the forum, you will get to know who knows which about what.

Unbelievable! Apparently, most, if not all of the diesel car makers have cheated. Where did VW get that $7 billion. That's government kind of money.

VW has a NET worth of $79.5 billion--that's government kind of money. I really think we are all missing something here. If it were financially advantageous to VW they would have reprogramed the computers, replaced some hardware and left the cars on the road. They didn't. Did that have something to do with the Compliance Agreement or was it a financial decision on the part of VW. Do the cars still belong to VW? This thread still has a lot of missing answers to why these cars are parked out in the middle of nowhere. Maybe other Hogs have more information on the Consent Agreement, what was required of VW, a compliance schedule, etc.

I too would like to know the facts.

These all have non-compliant emission standards. The engines at least will never see the road again.

I hope they drained all the fluids from these vehicles. To me this looks like a superfund site in the making.

Got my first pair of binoculars in 1957. Have been a birder ever since. I can remember where, when, and the circumstances of every one of the over 600 birds on my "Lower 48" Life List. Now, like you, I am adding to my "Photographed List".

Nalu is right photography can be both addicting and expensive---but also frustrating and oh so satisfying. I hope you continue to enjoy both birding and bird photography on an equal basis.

I believe your Curve-billed Thrasher is a Long-billed Thrasher.

Great shot! I spent hours and hours tramping all over N. Florida before I added this species to my life list.

Oh leave them there, they add to the drama and make us wonder what happened to the third bird. I agree with Katydid the blur adds to the action and the quality of the shot,
