Very nice. I really like the feild of yellow poppies. And that shot of the ram, WOW. I'd put that on the wall for sure, or at least in a coffee table book with some of your other work.
Thanks so much! There are more sheep than people in Iceland and they don't live in fences so you have to be careful on the road. Everything is so green there now cause there is plenty of rainfall and the sun does not set during the summer months. 24hr daylight means you can take pictures 24/7 if you can stay awake!!
the 3rd pic, green weed, what is that? I've taken shots of that in North Central PA, lowlands area, gets real tall, like 5 ft. Wondering what the name of it is? judy
I believe it is the rhubarb flower. At least that what a google search turned up. It grows wild everywhere in Iceland and it seems to attract flies. I had to shoo the flies off it to get the picture. If anyone thinks it may be something different please let me know!
Beautiful photos, Nikon13! Thanks for sharing, looks like you had a great time in Iceland. As I see your photos getting better and better, I worry that, one day, you may no longer talk to us little people! Thank you again!
Thanks Danilo! I would never forget the Hedgehoggers!!
Sorry about the IQ of the photos. I assumed at first that it was a Water Snake, but now I am wondering. It was about 4 feet long and heavy bodied. I am hoping that I wasn't stupid enough to get within striking distance of a Water Moccasin!!
I have heard that those pits on the face are used to detect heat coming from prey but they also estimate the size of the prey based on the heat signal. If it deems you too big to kill or eat it will not strike unless you practically step on it. In other words, they will strike only as a last ditch effort to get away.
I have just returned from my trip to Iceland. Drove around the perimeter of the island in five days! There are limitless photo ops in this country. Almost overwhelming. It does not get dark there during the summer months so you are only limited by how long you can stay awake. The "good light" exists between about 11:30 at night and 3am so you have to adjust your sleeping a bit. If you are not a point and shooter, it can be a bit exhausting. By the end of the week I was ready to put the camera away for awhile. I took more than a thousand photos. Here are a few I picked out

Beautiful shots of a country that is often overlooked for it's beauty. I really never realized this until a friend of mine had to go there on a business trip. She brought back some spectacular shots and she's not really into photography. If you have any of those shots where the people are like at a beach but actually the water is warm like bath water all year around. With all those shots taken I hope we get to see some more down the road---keep them coming......
You must be talking about the Blue Lagoon. That is supposed to be Icelands top tourist attraction but I have to disagree with that. It is a man made pool that contains the runoff from a geothermal plant. It has blue water with silica in it and it is very warm. However, in July it is full of people, like a large public pool. It was ok but I don't think it lives up to the hype. I don't have pictures because I was afraid to take my camera around a pool! There are pictures online that make it look like a bathers paradise but the pictures are a bit misleading. Thanks for the compliments on the pictures. I may put together a few more!
