My Samsung Note8 is finally giving up the ghost. The charging connector doesn't work (yes, I've cleaned it) and the battery life is getting intolerable.

I quit Apple when they refused to repair my iPhone6 Plus that developed iPhone touch disease (a bad batch of system boards) because I had the battery replaced at uBreakIFix. I swore I'd never go back, but because my whole family carries iPhones I'm left out of sharing family stuff easily.

I want the best camera possible for photos and video and I'm trying to decide between the iPhone 13 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Any opinions?

I still use a flip phone. I have no use or need to be "connected" aside from voice when I am away from home.

I see all these new expensive cameras ..

ugly they look ..

Brutal designs , harsh square lines and corners.
Plastic looking ... dont look like high quality cameras at all .

Panasonic , Sony , Fuji .. are the worst .
They look ' cheap and nasty ' but are ' Expensive and nasty '

The DSLR so far have kept with good traditional lines ..

The camera is a tool. Looks are meaningless. It has to fit my hands and do the job.

Setting up this link in Feb 2022 likely can't be done. All the major email systems changed how remote software can initiate emails. This was done as an anti-spam approach. Even if it could be done with the current LR subscription software, there's no way to update the programming of unsupported LR6.

Your best approach is the following:

1) Determine the best export parameters. The link below supports the idea of 2048-pixels on the long side with 90% JPEG quality. The post includes a sample screen-print of LR Export.

2) Create a generic output folder for your 'to email' export images.

3) Test your LR Export and when satisfied, save as a LR User Export.

4) Export your images to the generic folder, draft your email in the email client, drag n drop the images from the export folder. After sending your email, delete the export images or the entire generic folder. The LR export will dynamically recreate the folder for the next export.

Not sure about LR6, but in LRC (subscription) it works fine on my mac..File, Send e-mail, select size, send. In apple mail I can select addressee, subject, etc.

I have a 2019 macbook pro running Big Sir. The hard drive is now about 3/4 full and I need to transfer the Apple Photo Library to an external Hard Drive. I purchased a 2T SSD figuring that it would be much faster loading that a standard Hard Drive. I tried "export" the full file but it transferred the photos in Postage Stamp size data. I looked on Google but "drag and drop" didn't work at all. How can I move the whole Photo Library at once ?? Thanks. If all else fails, I'll make an appointment with the Geeks at the apple store.

You can use Copy and Paste. Right click the photos library, click copy. Then right click on the new SSD,
then click paste item. That should work.
Did you format the new SSD?

I am considering the Lenovo P1 Gen x - it has an NVIDIA GPU, RTX 3xxx/4xxx. If you are a user of Topaz SW (DeNoise, Sharpen, etc.), have you found it performing faster on the Lenovo P1 than on older computers with an older (or no) GPUs?

I run Topaz SW on my Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 5 - no separate GPU, only integrated video card. Sharpen (especially) is quite slow.

I use Topaz denies on my Lenovo's. Using the graphics processor is much faster than older pc's

First of all, I am a hobbyist, not a pro.
My computers are 2 mid2011 21.5 iMac's running High Sierra.
Lenovo P330 desktop running Win 11
Lenovo P1 Gen2 Thinkpad runningWin 11
Older HP 8200 elite running Win 10.
My iMac FAVORITE has 500g SSD and 16g memory. I run Aperture 3.6 with Nik, Luminar and PTLens plugins.
Also use Affinity Photo.
It handles Raw from my 3 cameras (Sony A6000, Lumix ZS100, Leica V-Lux typ114)
It is by far the easiest to use selecting paper ICC profiles for my Canon printer..(Photos does not) and is much easier than Photoshop.
I like its organization the best.
I do not care about the latest, etc, security....I use my Windows machines on line for that.
So I know I will get comments, but I am very satisfied with my "old" iMac's. They serve me well.

You may have looked, but you didn't know where to look. Where to look is more important that just having looked. Truth be told, it's not hard at all to find. Either from Adobe itself, or from a third party retailer.

Look more closely... the $9.99 option is still available on the Adobe website. I checked just now to be sure.

Thanks, I found it. When I looked thru my free creative cloud subscription, they only offered $19.99 with 1TB.
On the Adobe site they offer both. $9.99 with 20GB or $19.99 with 1TB

Sorry for the post, I should have checked more thoroughly.

The price hasn't changed, the lowest cost subscription remains $9.99/month. The higher cost 'PS only' options includes 100GB of cloud storage, where the $9.99 option covers PS, LR classic, mobile versions of each along with the desktop versions, and 20GB cloud storage. You don't 'need' any cloud storage except to share images in a 'work area' between your mobile devices and your 'main' desktop software.

The standalone software is 4+ years unsupported. Those old titles can be (re)installed and used only by owners that have the serial numbers in their Adobe.com profiles as the 'original' owners. I'm sure many unreputable online sellers will take your money, but they have no way (nor you) to get the serial number into your profile on Adobe.com for the software to verify.

I see they doubled their price. I have been using Element for a long time.
Does anyone have CS6 for sale anymore? I no longer want a subsription.

I am interested in a good street/travel camera. I have had 3 medium weight Sony “a” cameras but I have been disappointed with all. For a small camera there are multiple possibilities, but size, weight and good quality are my main requirements. Unfortunately, full frame and a large sensor just add both size and weight, so a limited zoom and a smaller sensor become the only real option.

One of the cameras I have been considering is the Leica D-Lux 7. From what I understand it still has the Leica look and the lens is acceptable. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to get my hands on one, so I am limited to reviews which I never really trust.

Do any of you have this camera? Does it give you the Leica Look (face tone and greens)? Does it feel good in your hands?

Look at the Lumix ZS100 20.1 megapixels, 1" sensor, 25-250mm (35mmm equivalent), Leica lens, many features.

Despite knowing better, I bought a used Olympus "P" series compact camera that accepts the same 4/3 lenses as my Oly SLR styled camera. I went out on a bright October day and could not see a thing on the big back screen. Fortunately, this was and older model that did not have the shooting options on a touch screen, but on a physical wheel.

Indoors, it is a delight.

Outdoors, I'm better off with my little Powershot A1200 and A1600 with real optical viewfinders.

How did the industry convince users that EVFs or optical finders were no longer needed?

I learned a while back about lack of viewfinders. Had a Nikon P7700 and it was awful outside. I sold it and purchased a P7800 with viewfinder. I will never again buy anything that takes pictures (including cell phones) that does not have a view finder. Before I get comments about cell phones, I am very technical, but, I choose not to be “connected” outside my home. I do have a flip phone for emergencies and talking (I thought that was what phones were for!)

The low cost cameras needed a removable sunscreen on the back. If I were a camera manufacturer I would have included a removable sunscreen. The viewing lens could have been put in a threaded cell (focus adjustment) made of plastic, since everyone is so addicted to plastic. The wrong answer would be .... because it's a low cost camera.

Had the problem once. Solution is I will never buy a camera without a viewfinder again😇

Have any of you hoggers heard of or have first hand knowledge of conflicts between Windows 11 and Adobe products? What about conflicts between Windows 11 and the usual plugins that we run in Photoshop and Lightroom?

For those of you who are concerned, Windows 10 will be supported until October 14, 2025.
I have been running a early release win 11on Virtual Box. Graphical interface is new, all else virtually unchanged.
Some of the "new" features do not interest me in the least.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
BTW I also run a copy of Win XP on Virtual box so I can use a very old Win3.1 program.
