Have any of you hoggers heard of or have first hand knowledge of conflicts between Windows 11 and Adobe products? What about conflicts between Windows 11 and the usual plugins that we run in Photoshop and Lightroom?

I have been using a "preview" release of Windows 11, but admittedly not with any photo processing software. Still, I would probably not move to Windows 11 immediately if your livelihood and sanity depend on product stability. I think it would be best to let the pioneers* shake it out first.

I don't have to worry about that as none of my PC is capable of running Windows 11.

Got to tell you, when they uploaded Win 10 to my desktop without permission it messed up a lot of my photo software. Got them to switch me back to Win 7 and all has been well ever since. I'm going to ride that horse till it dies, but when available, get a laptop with Win 11 as backup, for travel, and JIC.

probably a better question is has anyone started using Win11 at all? Does it come with a PhotoEditor as Win10 did?

I am a little anxious about jumping into it, but it allegedly has great capabilities to use the full power of my curved 34 inch monitor.

Right now there talking about 15-20% speed reductions with current AMD processors with Windows 11. I'd recommend to wait it out a bit. There's plenty of bugs that still need to be worked out.

After a fair amount of research into the new features, I can’t see anything that is useful enough to me to try it. There are lots of enhancements for multi platform use (switching from a desktop to an android phone and seamlessly sharing data), enhanced video conferencing, and a new more Mac-like desktop, but nothing really useful in my situation, and my days of running beta versions of a new OS just for the technical challenge and interest are behind me. Now if there were performance enhancements…

Adobe says that every app has required specifications that include the operating system. The newest subscription versions of Photoshop and the Lightrooms have been tested. The 2022 version of the Elements apps have been tested.

Older versions may not run. Plugins? That will be up to the plugin makers.

Although I've go current versions, I'm not upgrading to Windows 11 until I have to.

Microsoft has had a lot of issues with new versions of the operating system in the pass. Remember what happened with W8. So, because I do not use intensively the operating system, W10 is ok for me and I will wait until everything is tested to start thinking in an update.

Based only on the screenshots I've seen, 11 looks like it will be mostly a change in the graphic interface...look and feel, menus, etc. I use a number of Linux systems and find those screenshots of 11 to be rather Linux looking. Granted, Linux has a near infinite number of interfaces/desktops available, but somehow it strikes me as a significant departure from the Windows 8 and 10 interface.

To me, that's promising. Of all the systems I use, Win 10 has the worst interface. (well, Win 8 was even worse, but it seems to be long gone)

I'm in the windows insider program and even though my current PC won't pass the Windows 11 qualifications it did install and I used it for a couple of weeks. I reverted to Windows 10 because I suspect it will tell me that I can't run Windows 11 when it is officially available. Probably will get a newer PC. I did run Photoshop C6, Lightroom 5.1 and ON1 didn't notice any problems.

I have been using all the preview releases of Windows 11 on my 3 PC's since they were available using Adobe PS and several plug in's without any problems.

Has Win11 been officially released yet? If not, I suspect MS and other companies will be making some changes. I have no need to switch right now.

This might be of some interest to someone. Mike installed and activated Win11 with a £5.00 key he bought online.
